Anybody watching the game please tell me, what is going on with Yao's substitution. It never happened before like this.

 

Yao was taken out around 7 minutes left in the 1st, and came back with around 3 minutes left.

Not a bad pattern, as it gets him some rest so he can get his second wind, yet still play most of the first quarter.

Boston, unfortunatley, has a small and quick team that is doing nothing but surrounding Yao whenever he is down low.

Notice how many defensive 3-second violations they've gotten in the first half - THREE. That alone tells you why we can't get easy shots inside... we have to make our outside shots (like we did in NY) to be successful... today, we're not hitting anything.

 

Boston won't that red hot from outside for the whole game.

Rockets seems to be listening to the board and using more of Yao at the high post.

This is a winnable game unless Boston keeps 70% shooting from downtown in the 2rd half.

 

Put francis on bench please!

ok, after coming back down to Earth I realize this is the Rockets we're talking about.

 

francis is heading for a double doubles... with 7points 6 turnovers

 

I suppose it could be worse by half-time.

Hopefully we can avoid the game after the big win jinx :\

 

Not only that but one gets the impression that JVG doesn't see it ! When the Game reverts to the old Game, JVG needs to sit the offenders. Win or Loose we must rid ourselves of this type of Game.
No names no pack drill!

 

Are we the only team in NBA which fouls EVERY TIME at the end of each quarter, especially with few seconds left? Are we just stupid or something?

 

We are headed for another shattering defeat. Every team knows if they attack the Rockets they can win because our players won't and can't score on them as long as they keep on defending. Defense is crucial to winning but they can't make it unless they score consistently.
The worst thing is that they are losing at home.

 

McCarty, Welsch and Mihm are a combined 11-14 for 27 points.
Surely theyre not going to go 22-28!

Relax guys, we just need to weather this storm.. it rarely ever lasts.. and when it does, you just have to cop it and move on..

 

This "team" is such a pathetic bunch of losers. I am growing very tired of the same old bull**** game in and game out. Of course, the Rockets trash a team on the road, only to go home and be blown out by a .500 Eastern Conference team. How typical.

It is obvious to me now that this team will never achieve anything the way it is built. Time to rebuild, and I'd start by getting rid of Yao and Francis.

All stars? That's laughable.

 

What annoys me is that this is the SAME defense Memphis first started against Yao in game TWO of the season... and the Rockets have yet to figure out an effective way to make teams pay for this (besides, obviously, hitting long distance shots).

Until this team can show they can hit long range shots consistantly, why wouldn't teams pack it in around Yao and make them shoot...

Of course, the alternative would be for Yao to knock somebody over one of these games in order to get position... but that might nver happen.

 

why is francis so inept with the pick n roll? jesus, when they double you on the pick, don't freaking dribble out to midcourt. pass to the picker who is wide open.

 

Where's the petition to get JVG fired!! Go back to TNT!!!

 

Its not his fault his player are streaky in terms of hitting shots... yet continue to take them when they're obviously not feeling it (Mobley).

 

That's pretty ineffective when the 'picker' is Cato. Boston doesn't do the same agressive double-team when Yao sets the pick.

That's one problem with Cato getting so many minutes... teams on defense KNOW not to guard him when he's nowhere near the basket.

 

It IS his fault for not invoking any sort of discipline on the guards play and let them play playground basketball. Also his substition pattern for Yao is horrendous!

 

yao ming should quit and go to another team. he's wasting his time on the court running back and forth w/o getting the ball.

 

Are you watching the game? Boston has eight guys surrounding Yao every single time he tries to post-up.

That won't change until outside shooters start making wide open shots.
