    JVG is a bust...

Obviously JGV isn't happy with Yao now...on the other hand, Yao should be angry with him too...

Yao played very limited minutes. Van Gundy was upset at Yao for not establishing low-post position on the side of the lane where the ball was being held. Van Gundy strongly pointed to Yao that he should have been on the other side of the lane where the ball was. As a matter of fact he had been in the lane for almost 3 seconds (since no one had passed him the ball), and he had to get out of the lane before being called for a 3-second violation. How many times that Yao did get down low, but no one passed him the ball?

    Who to blame?

If Yao was benched for not performing, and why the helll Francis never got benched? Even on the night he shoot 0 of 10, he's still played 40 some minutes. Is that double standard or so-called hight standard for Yao.

Yao didn't have enough touch? Is that just his fault? Houston's passers and coaches should share in the blame for not being able to get the ball to Yao over the fronting defenders.

And who told Yao to set the high pick? High, I mean, almost at the half court. Are you dumb ass, Yao..? How would you expect to rebound and score if you set that kind of pick? Mobely was happy to take shot every time you set the screen ..

I felt sorry for Yao. JVG is a big bully and big bust...

I think JVG was wrong --- Yao is a project - we aren't going to win the championship this year --- let him work through it.

JVG has made us a premier defensive team -- I think he needs to hire an offensive coordiantor (yes just like football).

Every time I think Yao has hit rock bottom. That he can not possibly play any worse and he’s got nowhere to go but up. He goes and digs himself a deeper hole.

I just want ONE game. One game to give me just a tiny bit of hope in Yao. Francis will at least have one fantastic game once in a while where he’ll look like he’s finally turned the corner.

It’s just so frustrating when you had so much faith in a player and root for him to do well so much, to only have him disappoint you time and time again.

From some of the Chinese articles I read, Yao wasn't very happy about the 4th quarter benching too.

I just thought of something that could backfire. Remember how Moochie playing the last 3 years has been completely worthless with no attitude, but then he goes to NY and transforms into a completely different player, stats, attitude. IF the rockets traded Yao and he (like moochie) transformed into that aggressive monster we all want,we would be kicking ourselves for years. It might be just bad karma floating around the rox lockerroom causeing players to lose interest. Maybe JVg yelling constantly is getting on their nerves to the point of quitting on the coach.

Ah yes....the 24 second clock! The "dribble problem" still exists. But I've seen another problem...

First they walk the ball up the court....then....

How many times do we see the guy with the ball STAND at the top of the key and just wait....wait....wait....and look around...They just STAND THERE waiting for their players to start moving. No one moves. Then, after about 10-12 seconds, someone starts to cut.

    Anyone notice that?

Yeah. Sometimes I think Cato should just go stand in front of Francis and hold the ball between his legs while Francis analyzes the defense and then snap it to him when he is ready to make his move.

He had a good game, but it was still not the performance I’m looking for. He still was not dominant during that game. Kevin Garnett has stats like that practically every game. I’m talking about a 30 point 15+ rebound game where he carries the team on his back and dominates whoever guards him. Scoring 20 points is hardly dominating.

Surely, he can pull off ONE game like that.

i've just come back from abroad and saw my first rocket game in a month. what did i see? the same freakin' problems we've had all season. i don't care who we trade at this point, but we need to change something. basketball is not "rocket" science, obviously, so what gives? when will we have we been patient enough?

And another thing..Mo Taylor said in an interview--that THEY did not come out with intensity. If people can blame this loss on JVG--they need their heads examined. I watched that game last night--and we ALL KNOW they came out as flat as a 9-year old girls chest..(I'm a girl..I remember, OK:D) Allow me to quote Mo.."we can practice and practice..but you can't practice INTENSITY." Stop blaming the coach and start blaming the dudes with the big contracts and the basketball--you sound r****ded. Too many things have to STOP in order to be effective.

    1. Steve can't just play SMART on national TV games.
    2. Yao can't continue on not knowing what is expected of a big man in this league--you MUST play BIG and physical.
    3. After FIVE YEARS--WE ARE STILL RANKED IN THE UPPER TIER IN TURNOVERS. STILL!!?? IS THAT YAO'S FAULT, TOO?? NOT.
    4. We've got to stop being so inconsistent--either we want to make it to the playoffs or we don't.
    5. WE CAN'T CONTINUE TO BLAME JVG FOR HOW THE PLAYERS MAKE BONEHEAD DECISIONS DURING THE GAMES.
    6. Stop making excuses for Steve and blame everything on everybody else..or excuses for Yao and blame everybody else.
    7. If our jumpshots aren't going in--we need to be smart enough to take it to the basketball.
    8. STOP EXPECTING THE MOON AND THE SUN FROM YAO AFTER BARELY A YEAR AND HALF ON PLAYING IN THE NBA--AND BARELY EXPECT SQUAT FROM OUR MAX PLAYER WHO'S BEEN HERE FIVE YEARS AND HAVE NOT IMPROVED WORTH A DAYUM!!

Same argument works on SF too. SF can pull off ONE game in a month that is worth his max contract.

I agree with you but several things must happen before this can come to fruition. Firstly Francis as Playmaker must stop dribbling/passing the ball away to the opposite side to which Yao Ming is posting up.Secondly Francis has to stop passing the ball to a second player to make the pass into Yao Ming, this delaying action is a signal to the opposition to set up additional defence on Yao Ming.Francis must learn to pass the ball accurately and crisply to Yao Ming, no passes to his feet please or passes as though he had a 10ft. wingspan. He must learn the lob pass to reach the 90" player who is being fronted by one defender.Thirdly Francis must form a mind set that he at all costs is going to make Yao Ming succeed and that this is the number one priority. Of course JVG must realise that all this needs to be believed and accepted by Francis and reinforced if necessary.I realy would like JVG to understand that Yao Ming is not a natural for the Traditional Role of Center and have him use Yao to do what he does best. This same thaught applies to Francis as well who is naturally a Shooter/Scorer not a natural in the role of Playmaker. Both Yao & Francis must both be under great strain trying to accede to the changes required of them.

I hope JVC didn't berated Yao otherwise he would probably resent him.

So SF is playing 4 on 3 with the ball most of the time and his assist figures are still low? YM and SF are incompatible. Trade either one of them!
