overall YAO had a solid game, especially on the D side. Of course, A big mistake at the end. But who knows what would happen? it was still plenty of time, something like 22 seconds. We might still lose it or go to overtime

If YAO can hit some jumper in the 1st, we could have a easy win. But the problem is: no backup center for YAO. 13 pts gone so fast when YAO on the bench

Solid effort overall, I'm pretty happy. You take away T-Mac from our team, what more can you expect? You take away LeBron from Cleveland, this wouldn't have even been a game. We would have killed them.

I think the Rockets might have purposely lost this one... 1 foul to give and they let LeBron drive to the basket and Yao giving enough contact for a foul. If this was a game we wanted to win, Rockets would have used that foul to give and/or LeBron gets to the basket with no contact. Clear as day. Rockets management wanted to lose this one.

    ya def.

    1. we should have fouled them right after the inbound.
    2. we shouldnt have fouled after they got the shot up. no reason for yao to block that shot. just let them make the 2 and defend the 3.

Tank Job. They just wanted to keep for the whole game to give the fans something to watch, but they ultimately wanted to lose it in the last minute for a better pick. Maybe JVG got scolded for winning the last one. LOL

Not sure why you guys think they purposedly lost this game to tank the season.

If you read the post match quotes from the players, the taste of defeat was tough and bitter to swallow.

Well we have to realize that this team has struggled without TMAC and Wesley at the final straight, but they had not lost all hopes and determination to win.

Yes, mistakes were made at the regulation to have let this game slipped into OT, and eventually the loss. Things like

    1. Keith Bogans should foul LBJ first before he darted into the paint.
    2. Yao Ming should realize he has yet got superstar treatment and therefore should let go of that LBJ penetration/layup, and not give the referee any chance for any BS calls.

But I think we need to know one thing though: That And 1 for LBJ on his last play in regulation was in fact a BS call from referee, as Yao Ming did not foul him.

This is what Yao Ming told the reporters right after the game and I'm not sure whether it was reported in the post game quotes:

Of course they didn't tank the game. Anyone who really believes they did ought to have their head examined. ;)

Classic quote by JVG after the game, on LeBron James:

"He's a special talent ... He hasn't made the playoffs yet."

    Zing!

I saw part of this on the news tonight. Yao looked pissed. I love that he still wants to win.

I think I might have to agree with you guys. I THINK this may be a tank game cause we had a foul to give and we never gave it.

No, its not the players that doesn't want to win. Usually these last second plays are choregraphed 100% by the coaches so you think JVG deliberately wants to save that foul-to-give? I mean every coach in the world would have used that foul to give to shave some seconds of the clock. EVERY COACH. We should be happy that the organization is doing whats best for the future.

Thinking in this way really cheered me up. So I choose to believe that:( :(
We lost in OT, but this is really a good game for us though. I am happy to see Luther hit some crunch shots and Keiths played well offensively against James.

But the difference between his performances in the past 2 games and his performances during that 15-game stretch is his approch and attitude towards games. Whether his shots are falling or not, he is simply not as aggressive, and he is not attacking the basket and forcing refs to send him to the FT line. Almost all his shots today were jumpers. That is how he played before this new Yao emerged.

Cannot complain about lossing the game though. We've got a shot at #5 pick if we keep trying.
