Yao plays basketball. I don't think the chinese people will stay glued to their sets if Yao was a figure skater or hip hop dancer. So they are basketball fans, cause they like watching Yao play basketball.

Are you trying to say that being a player's fan and a real basket fan is mutually exclusive? Or are you just trying to imply that anyone who's a Yao's fan is not a real basketball fan? or did you mean to say chinese basketball fans can't be real basketball fans? When you said all chinese fans are not real basketball fans, I supposed you label yourself as a real fan, but from your bizard logic, you never think yao is one of the basketball player, do you? I don't think so. If yao don't play basketball, how many chinese will become his fans? You think about it.

I did see some of the chinese became a basketball fan just because of yaoming, so what, what is wrong with it. They also became fans of ROX and basketball.

I started to watch NBA just becasue of JORDAN, I have followed his game since 1990. You can label me with Jordan fans. I don't care, I watch nba games, I play basketball, and I enjoy who I am.
