Let's not put too much into Bobby, either. He was struggling to even hold the backup spot in NO. He isn't a starting-caliber PG, especially at his age. If he ends up starting, that is more of a sign of us having a real weakness at point.
Wondering the same thing. It looks like Aaron Brooks is out of the rotation (though hard to take much from just the first game). It looks to me like Adelman is going to use Bobby Jackson in much the same way he tried to use Mike James at the start of the year. Split time with Rafer and go with the hot hand. Rick pulled Rafer after he missed three straight threes in the first quarter. Rafer's played well lately, but this could be a good thing. I think 40-minute Rafer has a high probability of being a disaster in the postseason.
I actually think Luther should be given more minutes this game... he is shooting well.. just stop giving him the damn ball to handle and let him to be a spot up shooter
i think when teams are so athletic and can cover all our other guys like that and it's tough for us to really run our offense (as tmac let the team do when he didn't even look for his shot early), you'll see adelman putting the ball in tmac a lot. that's the good thing. u don't have to do it all the time like we did under JVG (where tmac would control 90% of the offense). now u only go to tmac to control the offense exclusively if it's not going well. it's more of a backup than what we intend to do.
good first half. the bulls are a tough defensive team that can really get out on the break. the rockets need to make some perimeter shots to make the bulls play honest defense, rather than clogging the paint.
and a defensive liability on the other end. I love Luther's 3pt shot but that is completely where it ends.
Wow, Rafer looks bad out there. I felt extremely confident when Bobby handled the rock. I see the solution at pg. Lets hope he gets more minutes, I like what I see from him.
no dude, we're not picking on him. he just forgets his role sometimes. he shouldnt be taking the final shot when you have a former superstar and a 90 inch man in the middle.
Making shots is part of it but it's also avoiding TOs. We need to have good ballhandlers in the game tonight. I would be more inclined to play Brooks than Head in that respect.
Im not sure if Adelman called that though, tracy said at the interview he just wanted to get a run so took it in his own hands
and alston for the past 3 years was and still is a competent low turnover pg who has decent court vision who occasionally takes bad shots...just like how bobby Jackson takes random bad shots seeing that he is shooting below 40% for the season
Very true but when our defense isn't doing that great of a job to begin with at the moment, I don't mind adding his scoring
It certainly puts a whole new complexion on the NO trade. I agree it's hard to read a lot into one half, but I was struck by the fact that Jackson saw a bunch of minutes and was inserted early in the first quarter.
its okay to pick on him for that but there a random fans around here who already want bobby jackson starting.
