Not at all. I just noticed that he seems to be leaving players in when its obvious that they are tired. My theory was that he was doing it to make the team as a whole mentally stronger at the end of the game.

in the 4th quarters of the last five games we have played, excluding the win over Miami, the Rockets have been outscored 115 to 74

What I don't understand is why Shane was so close to Nocioni on that last buzzer beater 3 pointer....They were down by 4 so why even get within 5 feet of the guy and risk giving up a 4 point play. Last I checked, there were no 4 pointers in the league unless you make the bonehead play and foul a 3 point shooter. If they would have called that foul, I think JVG would have ran on the court and strangled Shane....He is a smart player (our smartest) so I'll chalk it up as a one time mental error...Thank God it didn't cost us...

I don't agree with all of it.

He says our defense is phony... heard that before... still nonsense. Implies we simply slow the game down so no one can score, yet we apparently still have time to score...8th in the league... yet have the lowest ppg for opponents for a second in the league point differential.

TMac doesn't love to play? Absurdly false.

Nocioni was not fouled. Battier's feet were firmly planted and his arms were straight up.

Lacking overall team speed yet we were whupping the Bulls on all of the hustle stats for most of the game? We're 8th in the league in steal differential, and supposedly have no power in the paint but we're 6th in the league in rebound differential.

Still amazing to me that some will try to argue how much we suck and yet we can whup good teams for long stretches.

Yeah, that bothered me as well. I mean it was obvious he didn't foul, but he still should have been farther away from him on the shot. I am going with the story it was a one time occurance and he was smacking his own head after the play was over.

Really is a scary win. I watched it live, and at the last few minutes, I could hardly hold my breath.....

I guess this is the most glaring difference between rox and spurs

I think this is a great thread as to what jvg may be thinking leaving guys in that are obviously worn out---but it does make for an interesting ending to a game that we all should have been watching just to see the new guys late in a blowout.

because his denfense is kind of suspect. Defensive centers are like shaq or d.howard. how many times has yao been on sportscenter for the wrong reasons?

The reason why we lose this big leads in the fourth is that our starters are tired. JVG is stupid for not using his bench players to give his starters a rest and be able to finish games strong. Why are we paying all this players if we are not utlizing them? JVG not a good coach for this team, the Rockets are loaded with talents, if JVG is a good coach, he will be able to distribute good minutes between his players and be able to motivate them to play harder. Look what the Spurs did, they used their bench to get back to the game and gave the starters time to rest and finish the game strong......thats the formula to their success and JVG don't have that. Its bad for the Rockets because we have stupid coach that don't have trust on his young players, and doesn't know how to develop his rookies. JVG plays only the old vets and just have an 8 to 9 man rotation. JVG is so rigid and can not adjust to what the game dictates, his is so egoistic that he refuses to bend his rules even if the it means losing, FIRE JVG!!!!!

I read the comments before I posted. It's true we are 6-3 right now, but I don't think we will be able to get past the first round in the playoffs if ever we will be there come spring. The way JVG is coaching right now, he is just wearing off his starters, and I bet they will be so exhausted at the end of the season. Let us admit that JVG is a an average coach and not a good one. Look at the great coaches like Greg Popovich and Phil Jackson, they give their rookies playing time and use their bench well. JVG have trust issues, and not flexible, and his offensive plays are limited, and can not motivate his players well enough to play for 4 quarters. His defensive strategies are replicas of Rileys......can not defend perimeter shooters. With all the talent the Rockets have we could have been 9-0 but because we have an egoistic coach we are 6-3. :)

You can't use last season's record to judge a team.
If you look at the teams we beat and the teams lose, it is not promising. We havn't beaten a team with winning record.

    Teams we beat:
    dal 4-4
    mem 1-7
    mil 3-6
    nyk 4-6
    mia 3-5
    chi 3-6

    Teams we lost
    utah 8-1
    nok 6-3
    sas 7-2
