Well, I have to disagree with you here. Arenas more of shooting guard, not really a PG that leads a team with decision-making and assists. I like Billups but if I'm a GM (and I would expect all GMs would agree) and both players were offered to me right now, I would take Deron. Paul, like I posted earlier, he's pretty damn good but right now the real stats back up Deron (i.e. current team standing/success) but it could be a tossup for many years as both will be tremendous PGs over the next several years. Baron Davis? Over Deron? Call me crazy I guess to me this isn't even close, I'll take Deron anyday on over Baron. Jason Kidd. Are you talking about the current version? I'm not talking about the JKidd from 5 years ago. Honestly, I only see Nash and Paul as PGs that Deron could really look to as peers. Maybe Kidd as more a historical mentor much like Magic Johnson and John Stockton I guess. So yeah, while he's no Hall of Famer yet, he is easily Top 5 right now in the NBA for PGs.
mac's pissed again. no speaking to reporters. guess he's gonna stop coasting and deferring to yao so much pretty soon.
are u serious? have u seen nash's career stats? it's 13 and 7. u don't think deron will have a better career than nash?
His stats are skewed cause he wasn't a starter early. Espn already have nash one of the top 10 pg to ever play the game. I doubt williams cracks that list when his career is done.
how do u know that? nash was not even a top 25 player when he went to phoenix. deron is doing 17 and 10 this yr. u don't think he'll bring that to 22 and 11 soon as he gets more experienced? and it's ESPN. they hype.
You're crazy. Nash was already an all-star in dallas and considered one of the best in the game. Selective memory is cool to have.
I just looked over both Nash's and Kidd's career stats. Both obviously have had extremely impressive careers for over a long duration of time and deserve to be considered HOF worthy. But looking at their stats only makes you more impressed with where Deron is at in his 2nd year. Right now, Deron's assist average would place him among JKidd's top 5 and Nash's top 4 yearly averages. That's pretty damn good. One thing that stands out for JKidd is his ridiculous rebounding averages--jeez he outperforms most PFs and Centers in the league. Of course winning is the most important hallmark for a truly great PG (that's how Magic and Stockton have mean measured) and this is an area that Nash and Kidd have separated themselves from lesser PGs over the years and perhaps one day soon, Deron and Paul may be.
There is a reason WHY Tracy did not speak to the reporters. He actually packed and left early than the rest of the Rockets. He flew on his private jet to Los Angeles, one day ahead of his team mates. This is from Zhang Yi, reporting from Houston. http://sports.sohu.com/20070327/n249005452.shtml
Well, who knows? Could be for some commercial engagement, or checking with a physician or some personal commitment. No BIG deal.
So TMAC isn't good for this team's chemistry???? Let me guess, you are a TMAC hater aren't you. Rockets and the fans should consider themselves lucky to have TMAC on this team.
does that mean you're a top 20-25 player? jamison was an all-star. butler is an all-star. the best stats nash got in dallas was 17 and 8. deron is averaging 17 and 10 now. AGAIN, i'm not saying deron is better than nash NOW. i'm saying he will in the future and possibly have a better career.
uhh "Me-MAC" dished 9 dimes tonight and 0 TO's. a couple of them to Yao, making yao's night looking better that it really was. it shouldn't be that hard to see it if ur a fan of the rockets.
and apparently 1 TO too, ah well close enough. He also had 4 steals. You can call t-mac alot of things, but i dont think there is any reason to call /imply that hes selfish. Not with from rockets fans. Maybe back in his Tor/Orl days, but not with this team. Hes much wiser now.
