Porter Jnr actually had less passes yesterday than he averages for the season

He had 47 passes yesterday, he averages 56 for the season

He was more efficient than usual.
Instead of tossing last-second desperation passes, he stayed within the flow for most of the game.
It's a "less is more" situation I guess.

Was referring to the types of passes he was dishing out. KPJ hardly uses lobs in his game, and he is passing to sengun in the pnr

he does use lobs if he has someone to lob it to. Green and Bruno are the only ones athletic enough to get up there for a pass. Can't do it with Sengun because he can't really jump high enough. Smith will be able to over time

interesting when people think he was more efficient when he had the same amount of turnovers with less passes. That is not more efficient. Shooting wise, he was more efficient. I always stick up for him, but efficiency has a number.

Fewer passes but quality passes, plus more assists.

assists only count if a player makes the shot. He averages quite a few potential assists, unfortunately we miss a lot of shots. Hia assists were lay ups or dunks mostly yesterday.

he had 7 assists on 8 potential assists yesterday. Usually he has in the teens on potential assists. Green handled the ball more though

KPJ has the fourth highest pass rate on a team where he is point guard and has the ball the most time. lol

KPJ makes the most passes on the team and Jalen Green has the highest usage rate. Problem is, some people only think point guards should only ever pass the ball. This is not the old days where it was seen often that point guards were only there for assists. This team is not like when Harden ran everything, that is not the system they want to play. I think some fans got use to that system. Porter, Sengun and Green all average 33 touches in the front court.

    Usage Rate
    Green 29.2
    Porter Jnr 24.7
    Sengun 23.1

I think you tend to look at stats and estimated stats and you can bend them to your will. You do that by looking a cumulative stats instead of percentage for a person. KPJ's issue is playstyle more than whether or not he passes. He still doesnt pass in the right spots and has a low bbiq for a point guard and he tends to drive and shoot contested jumpers rather than pass to an open player. He does pass and he doesnt have to be pass first, his issue is how he is doing it, when and why he is rather than the fact that he does it more than someone else. Also, that usage rate stat, on another site his usage is 26 and if you looked just a week or two ago KPJ's usage rate was higher than Jalens. That being said the point is that his strengths are better off the ball than on. He is a more efficient player off the ball anyone can see that, so thats why people are saying he isnt a pg not because they expect him to be pass first..

We finally got the usage rate for Jalen the way it should be but dont act like it didnt take a lot of Jalen screaming for the ball in order for it to happen. This is why we've been playing better lately so Stats without context mean nothing. Also I was referring to pass percentage which is how much you pass vs how you have the ball. He is at 8.3% which is 4th on the team.

KPJ usage rate has been about the same all season. In fact people over read it wrong because he brings the ball up the court, they don't take that in to account. . Once it is in the front court, then Sengun had the highest usage rate. Only recently has Green had most of it. KPJ looks for Green and Green looks for KPJ quite a bit. It can be a two man offence sometimes. They will dump the ball to Sengun any chance they get.

Then why are you mad at people who want KPJ to be "pass first". The picture that you are trying to create already puts him there. You see my point? You are trying to cherry pick certain stats to make KPJ into a player instead viewing him as he is and admitting his flaws. When you refuse that no one can take you seriously because even people who like KPJ cant see his flaws. He never was a point guard, he was just the best ball handler at the time and they put the ball in his hands. People saying he isnt a point guard are just telling the truth. He's nto a natural point guard its just the truth. He doesnt have a high bbiq its just the truth. He is a good player but his strengths are off the ball and in iso, catch and shoot or cutting to the basket.
