i'm more concerned with guys like middleton, bledsoe and brogdon going off. the odds of GG, tucker, etc being able to match these guys' production are not good
Eh ugh I havent watched so many games this season because I cant stay up at night so Im not the best to give a detailed breakdown or anything. From what I have seen they play mostly like atlanta especially to start the games. However becoz Middleton was in a very serious slump they allowed him lately and GA to shoot midrangers which was previously not prohibited but very frowned upon. And when the ball gets hot they have Giannis isos. Basically its atlanta motion offence but it has been also accomodating the personell. Also becoz Mids has been so bad a lot of times when he cant buy a basket hes the one facilitating with GA scoring. They generally are very bad at first quarters also they have little experience in close games because mostly they have been steamrollibg teams and the games are over by the third. So thats basically all I can say. GA is playing both off the ball in the post and on the ball initiating the offence hitting the shooters depending on whats needed or if someone else is hot. However if a team doesnt double or triple team him then he will go on a scoring rampage unless there is someone who he has trouble with. For example Whiteside and Gobert and Thad Young he has historically having trouble with them guarding him for years. Yeah sorry I cant be more helpful..
Thx for all that. So, he prefers to face up? I guess I can watch a series of FGA video at nba.com too, but I love when you share your take.
Yes but if it is called for he also plays a lot in the post without much issue. If plan a doesnt work and the shooters are cold which happens a lot lately then he can score there off ball. They arent a good 3pnt shooting team.
Question: If Harden dunked on Giannis tonight, would he automatically WIN the MVP award tonite on that media narrative basis? (I am kidding....kinda)
Harden likes to deliver on National TV! so hoping for a good one tonight. Curious to see the effect our switching will have on their offense. I haven't seen complete games other than vs Warriors, but try to catch them as much as they can for stretches. From the top of my head: Look out for Bledsoe's ability to get in the paint: It's hard to keep a freak like GA out of the pain, but Bledsoe's finishing is the oxygen the need sometimes. And we should be able to defend it well enough. The initial position where they get the ball to Giannis: It seems that is super easy for him to score when receiving the ball very close to the paint, and the offense is good enough to generate that from the organic movement (this is what I mean by the effect our switchin may cause) My guess is that if we consistently get him to start his offense far enough, its going to affect his efficiency. Hope we get a statement game from the Beard but most of all, hoping for a W.
can't stop laughing at Capela...hahaha. And the Beard looking regal, like he should. PJ has that contemplative, "This is what life's all about", look going on.
