Alperen and FRED played with a low percentage but still won, which shows that the team is truly a "team". By the way, Giannis commits offensive fouls in almost every position, he uses his elbow in every position, he runs and gets fouled, Giannis and Embiid are two players I don't like.
I just finished watching the replay and holy **** the refs were assholes today. Every time they went to the monitor they tried to work out how to **** the Rockets over. It was blatant. Kudos to the good guys for riding the bumps and getting a needed W in what was possibly the longest regulation game of all time
Lots of good things especially the defense. Jalen Green had a pretty good game. His finishing around the basket was impressive, and he's learning when to make plays better. His defense was pretty good too. His shooting will come around, if he keeps up the good work in other areas. Amen played more intelligently and Cam continues to gain confidence. Aaron Holiday woke up from his slumber. Lol! A big shout out to uncle Jeff and FVV. Alpi's got great IQ and Jabari is getting tougher. I hope Eason and Brooks will become healthy soon. Our future looks pretty bright when we fight hard. Go Houston Rockets !
This is a game they easily could have tucked their tails in between their legs and lost when the Bucks, Giannis, and the refs started rolling. I switched over to the Texans game because I got so angry with the refs. It was a gritty win after having their worst game of the season last night and without Tari and Brooks. Impressive work from these guys and a great win.
Yes! Jabari played tough ball. The whole team did, really. Such a good win but the contributions from everyone that played was what got me pumped. Hardly a wasted minute by any player tonight. Yes it's worth a watch again. The calls sucked but they pretty much got the reviews right. Sengun playing a little more outside was nice using that one handed flick, Jalen played so well within what the Bucks were giving him, Jeff is brilliant, even Cam played smart minus maybe one play. Everything worked out and though the 3rd quarter was boring with all of the free throws, overall the game was fun to watch. The spirit of Dillon and Tari reign supreme. Rockets win! Huge win tonight! It could be the difference in trying to make the playoffs. Hats off to coaching. They were dialed into what we're capable of. It all started with Ime's post game interview where he injected confidence in us. He said the Buck's defense was worse than the Timberwolves and that seemed to ignite us. Giannis has to stop getting calls when he lowers a shoulder into the defenders around the league that have position. He's not playing by the same rules as the rest of the league.
Really good game from basically everyone tonight. Good game to watch. Finally managed to finish it after League Pass kicked me out 17 times with an error message throughout it. I'll take it if it means seeing Giannis and the Milwaukee Free Throws take the L. First time I've ever seen Green show a slight hesi/change of speed on one of his drives - and he scores nicely. Hopefully he can begin incorporating that more and more to throw out the defender. Just one of those games for Sengun with the lid on the bucket it seems. Glad he didn't get too discouraged and was ready to make winning plays at the end.
Thanks ! GREAT birthday...Auburn murders Arkansas, Rockets beat the Bucks and Texans beat the Colts...the trifecta.
Now that was unexpected. We came out with some serious physical defense and focus, complete 180 to last game. The downside might be that Ime credits the toughness more so than anything else, which is fine, but it's definitely not the whole story. I give them credit for finally going big and seeing Tate was ineffective, so they put Jeff Green in. The second run during the second quarter was with him and I believe in the 3rd he had 8 points in a row at one point. That was big! I still didn't like the Aaron - Amen - Cam trio out there at the same time, but Aaron was shooting well, Amen showed some flashes and Cam was doing well so didn't mind it too much in the 2nd half. Speaking of Cam, his 3pt usually go in like in 2k, hard off the back rim and net goes flying. From our main guys, Green played very well, picked his spots and got some solid looks. FVV has to cut out those contested threes, very risky one with 2 minutes left and Dame draped all over him, and some of those mid-range 2s. Only when he's made a few threes those go in on a more consistent basis. Sengun was locked in from the beginning, just a few shots didn't go his way, but he stayed aggressive and got rewarded. As a team I felt we showed a lot of aggression and determination when driving to the basket, which got us to the FT line. The refs were pretty solid overall, I must say, but that early 3rd quarter was ridiculous. Plus they see a guy fall down and just assume there was a foul has been an issue for ages. Jabari got lucky, that shoulder bump was definitely a bit more than a regular foul, but I like his attitude. The retaliation was stupid, gotta be smarter than that, but I like it still. Speaking of Jabari, he hit some nice threes and he drove to the basket, but our spacing was off and his awareness is still not where it should be. Like with Jalen, recognize that you are going into 2-3 guys, but it's also on our coaches and their teammates to recognize there's an opportunity to cut and put pressure on them. Tate was flying all over the place, he really needs to calm down, and just finish those easy touches around the rim and can he not dunk? That put back attempt early in the game that he missed was kind of bad. Still he showed hustle and we got some turnovers partially because of him. The real difference maker to me was Jeff Green though, he might not be tall, but damnit does he play like he's still a young buck. Got a nice block too. Jabari got the biggest block of the night though, at the end of the first half, and as a team we got some nice steals in there. Great team win and these are the type of wins that show character. Might have been the best win of the season all things considered.
When you say stuff like it's your first time you've seen Green use change of pace to score, that tells me you just tune out all the creative plays he's done his first two seasons. He definitely has done hesi and change of pace to throw of defenders and score multiple times.
Giannis has mastered approved, physical "basketball moves" that dislodge defenders, especially leading with his shoulder. There isn't much anyone can do once he reaches that position on the court. I did love how Jabari counterpunched and trucked Giannis's lead shoulder on that 4th quarter drive rather than get bounced out of the play (again). The powerful all-NBA Giannis had to collapse like a wounded duck with a broken wing to get a call. After that play, there were a couple of later drives that Giannis made that did not draw a whistle (but only a couple). As Jabari gets stronger over the years, he's going to be able to absorb and initiate contact but be more subtle about it. It's great to beat the Bucks and get a hard-earned, almost wire-to-wire win. Our bench is looking stronger game by game.
