Thats good news but it does not matter if the Rockets cant beat teams they are suppose to beat. Denver will get better once Carmelo returns. This was the time to catch them and it looks like the Rockets blew that opportunity.

I still have hope rockets will sneak into the playoffs though. But JVG needs to go. Plus, trades need to happen cause right now the PG and PF positions are just killing the rockets night in and night out.

Howard and Taylor blow so much! They combined to shoot 4/15 tonight and grabbed a whopping 3 boards!!! (Taylor had 0 in 20 minutes) The power forward position is such a joke.

The Rockets have a bunch of brickers. Forcing a half-court offense with a bunch of brickers is like slow death.

Good point. I wonder if replacing AB with Ward is one of JVG's master plan to revert the team back into the slow it down, grind it out offense, mixed up with JVG's hatred to developing young players.

"This is who we are at present," JVG said. "Without a change in our behavior, our preparations, our intensity, our concentration, our energy, our execution ... without changing something for the positive, you're not going to get change."
    - from houston chronicle

So JVG, my question to you is, do you gonna change the way you coach, your offensive scheme, your rotations???

The only good thing about getting swept by an expansion team is that now Elmer Fudd has an excuse to fire Van Gundy immediately. Everything else about it sucks.

Haha, that reminds me of the old Rick Pitino press conference meltdown in Boston. "All the negativity that's in this town sucks. Larry Bird isn't walking through that door, fans..."

Anyway, when Houston fans are this frustrated, you know we've been provoked.

How in the hell did Lue get a contract in the nba anyways?? Was it because he played okay defense on Iverson in the finals? Man, was Orlando r****ded for actually paying for this scrub. This guy needs to get dropped like a bad habit because he seriously sucks hardcore.

What's the point with putting 5 players out there? You might as well let Yao and T-Mac play 2 on 5 because this supporting cast is really disgusting, no talent, no skill, no heart, no brains. This is the worst bunch I've seen in Houston for a long time.

You're right. What did Andre Barret do to deserve the injure list?

IMHO, he's much better than Ward or Lue. He may be undersize, but he has heart and hustle, and smart enough to make plays. You rarely see Lue or Ward making a good pass, but I saw AB drive into crowd then softly lays it right there for Yao easy shot, or pass out to a wide open teammate.

Yeah, AB is a natural point guard.

I really want to kill Van Ganpy. This guy is just a mindless coac.... I don't understand many moves he manipulate, not only for yesterday's loss, but also many previous ones. AB is certainly a guy who can be sent on court during the low peak. He can bring liveness instead of Ward or Rue. Rue is a guy who can shoot on the offense side, but not a guy who can pass. He is just too short and not able to jump high. For a team against like Bobcats, we need more toughness instead of cleverness. Padget is certainly a guy more clever but less tough than Howard. I have no clue why he is sent to the court during the final minutes instead of Howard. Or maybe Howard said something on the bench, which annoy Van Ganpy.
Anyway, the big loss in the fourth quarter is definitely an error of the coach.
We don't lack players, but Van Ganpy just don't how to manipulate them. Look at what Don Nelson do, Van Ganpy is like a child in front of him.

Juwon Howard, Maurice Taylor, Clarence Weatherspoon, Scott Padgett..... none of these players would be the starting PF on any other NBA team.

Bob Sura, Charlie Ward, Tyrone Lue, Andre Barrett.... none of these players would be the starting PG on any other NBA team.

Oh yes... we do lack players.

    1. The Orlando Magic adjusted their offense to take advantage of the skills of their new point guard. Result: they improved.
Conversely, the Rockets force their stars to conform to the offense. Result: we've faltered.
    2. JVG should NOT have tried to get a "quick two" last night instead of trying for a three-pointer with 18 sec. left. I'm not on the "fire gundy" bandwagon, but I am disagreeing with his calls more and more.
    3. It's no mystery - other teams know how to beat us. Leave our point guards and power forwards wide open from long-range, and strip Yao of the ball before he can shoot. It's been the same all year, and nothing JVG has done is changing.
    4. Last year's team struggled and seemed to play with little heart. We barely made the playoffs. This year, we have a completely different team, yet we struggle and seem to play with little heart. Whatever JVG does to motivate his players isn't working.
    5. The fact that we lost to an expansion team.... twice.... once at our house.... and gave them their first career road win after 10 road losses..... that's humiliating. Embarrassing. Disgusting. How can they expect people to be excited about the Rockets after such poor performance?
    6. I feel sorry for Tim McDougall (VP of Rockets marketing) - it's gotta be hard for him to sell this team right now.

Good post droxford. There is no sugarcoating about this, but we absolutely suck. To be a so-called playoff contender and get swept by a ****ing expansion team is ridiculous.

**** like that does NOT happen if you are supposed to be a playoff bound team.

And as much as we don't care for him because of his comments about the Rockets, Kenny Smith is right when he says that we NEVER should slow the game down from 100+ possessions to 80 possessions. That just gives the other team a better chance of winning, regardless if they are the overall better team or not.

And another thing about Grumpy that really pisses me off about him...don't great coaches adjust their style to their players? This man absolutely REFUSES to do that and as a result, the players are suffering and we, as the fans, are suffering to.

I used to look forward so much to when the Rockets played, now thanks to Grumpy and his listless and boring style, I could care less. It is like he has taken my heart out and stomped all over it.:(
