Who's starting at PF tonight officially, anybody know? Is VB just going to get Spoon's old garbage minutes? Sorry if it's been answered already, but I couldn't find it...

SAR has only 20 games left to prove that he is worth lots of money. I see him going for 30 against our soft front line.

T-Mac goes for about 32 and shoots over 50%, giving us 6 in a row.

Feigen says Spoon - "Weatherspoon, who can be an effective rebounder and mid-range catch-and-shoot option, will likely start in Howard's place beginning tonight at Toyota Center against Portland."

It makes sense... Padgett plays better w/ the second team anyways, and Spoon and Howard are more similiar than Padgett and Howard.

Also, I don't think we'll lose much on rebounding and tough defense with Spoon... he's still pretty tough down there. But we will lose on athleticism and scoring. I also was really starting to love the way Juwon was running up the court on fast breaks.

im kind of excited to see what Vin can do to help the team.. I still feel he has something left and will contribute.

Spoon starting at PF.. man isnt he 6 foot 6? must be a record for the shortest PF in recent history.

    haha

Zach Randolph is done for the year. Derek Anderson was just activated off IR. Not sure what to expect from the Blazers. I say we win by 8-12 pts.

Agree with everything, VB will get the garbage minutes now...

But if I were JVG, I wouldn't take both Yao and T-Mac out at the same time for th next month, something we could get away with offensively with JH in there...

Also, our 2nd team still doesn't look that bad if the Big 2 ARE both on the bench:

    Deke <-----Defense
    Padgett <-----Spot-Up
    Bowen <-----Hustle
    Barry <-----Passing
    James <-----Scoring

The game is on network TV here in Portland, so I'm going to get to see it. The local paper here is listing Padgett as the starter. Portland has been awful lately, but they did beat Memphis a couple of nights ago. I hope the Rockets put them away early tonight. McGrady should have a big night. Rockets by 15.

I don't know if any of you guys remember that first game in Portland, but Tracy guarded Shareef for a big portion of the second half. He did a really good job. That will not be a full-time defensive assignment for Tracy, but if they need to make a stop on Shareef, JVG will put T-Mac on him. T-Mac blocked his shot in Portland when SAR was posting Tracy up.

Rockets lead 92-69 by end of 3rd quarter, bench plays entire 4th quarter.

So, Mike James is the 2nd best player in the team by your theory? He did take most shots behind TMac.

There are two players on this team regularly force shots, TMac & M. James. Since we have been winning, people are willing to over look that, but JVG has noticed that, wanted them to go to Yao more, especially in the 4th qtr.

It's just plain stupid basketball when you don't go to your 7'6" inside force more, the guy who has the best field goal % in the team.

BTW, we should win vs the Blazers.

    Sorry, a definite loss.

No Howard is bad, our two other PF combined for 5.4pts and 4 rebs per game. I don't see how we defeat Blazers without PF.

    105 : 90 Blazers

We'll see about that tonight about PF. Hope Yao doesn't foul out or sit on the bench. TMac can use some rest. We blow them out early and coast.

without JH protecting the paint, we will see a beatup and fouled out yao.

Rockets lost the game by 14 points.

All the champ talk evaporated after tonight's loss.

Yao will get at least 20-10 tonight by being the sole force for the Rockets inside.

BTW, is any one worried that Yao is very flu prone?

I think he is just tired. When you are tired, you are disease prone. Let Yao Ming rest this summer!
