what are you, a blazers fan? our team is a lot stronger than that.

For the rest of us real rockets fans, a win's a win! our first half domination made them have to rely on luck to come back.

while wesley definitely missed the 2nd on purpose, had he hit the first, i would've tried to make the 2nd one. you have to take a 3 point lead if you can get it. don't let 90 foot heaves or halfcourt heaves beat you. take the 3 point lead. but missing the first one made all of that moot.

Yeah we just about did everything we possibly could to give that game to the Blazers at the end. We won that game by a hair and blind luck.

If you were watching FSN SW did anyone get JVG telling Wesley to miss the second FT? you could read his lips

i thought for sure the buzzer was gonna sound before damon got it off but you seem to be able to do about a hundred things in the last 3 seconds of an nba game.

it was fairly well defended in that he had to go around about 3 people to get open but the actual shot was fairly open and basically dead on. just too hard and barely clipped the rim after hitting the backboard.

Earlier this weekend somebody in the "why we won recent games" thread was derided for writing, "Winning makes people blind."

Well, wake up. Winning has blinded us. Ekeing out these collapse-comeback nailbiters (Lakers, Blazers, etc.) just breeds more complacency and more collapses.

We canNOT afford this. Not in the stretch, not in the playoffs.

If that last second heave had gone in I would have been traumatized.

1 100% agree with this. I was stunned Van Chancellor was saying to make the first and miss the second on purpose. In that case, who cares if you make the first or not (unless there is a stupid foul)? Make them both.

Stoudamire had a very clean look on a half-court shot. NBA guys can give that a decent chance.

Well, anyhow - it won the game tonight. But not without scaring the crap out of me.

this game was a brilliant example of toying with the other team

to miss both free throws at the end was certainly a bold strategy, but WELL WORTH IT my friends.

    cheers to a solid W

Did anybody else think that the time didn't start when Portland got that rebound? It seemed like at least a second went by before the clock actually started.

Maybe it just seemed that way.

Yea, "Yao is a choke" compared to "oh Tracy". Enough said. Yao is no choke, neither is Tmac. Missed FTs, it happens. Just don't act like you are holier than others.

    I'm just glad Rockets win.

Honestly, I thought on the inbounds pass to Wesley (before he was fouled)... he should have just heaved the ball straight up in the air.

Its risky, but it would have run out the clock.

(on second thought, too many things could go wrong with that... but it would be one helluva way to run out the clock... kinda like Magic "rolling" the ball at the end of the 1991 WCF against Portland to send LA to the finals).

Our mistakes are going to catch up sooner than the team thinks which will cause us big problems. We have to get better. We aren't a deep team and can't afford many mistakes.
