My opinion. Missing FT in a regular game is better than in a playoff game and much better than in a FINAL GAME! No pain no gain. This kid do need some lessons to get a real heart no matter he can or not.

traditionally we have struggles with a pnr, as a coach myself i never had any idea what the hell Rudy's strategy was with guarding pick n rolls, always seemed half way between a few different methods (ie swtiching, fight thru, show and retreat and doubling the dribbler)

traditionally the Knicks team JVG were very good at guarding pnr
gott hope this can translate to the rockets.

sure pnrs are a great play especially when run by thinking players, as they are always able to adjust to whatever the D does, but we must have a range of strategies in place to mix things up and make it tougher for them to score.

Didn't see the game tonight but after reading the ClutchFan recap I wasn't surprised at our late collapse which almost cost us the game.Props to the guys for holding on but the lack of mental strength is obvious. The players have to play much smarter when it gets tough and show greater resolve so they can cut down on these repeated mistakes.

Actually, the way the Spurs have been playing, we should win both. The Spurs aren't the same team that won the title. They'll probably gel eventually, but hopefully it won't be this week.

Parker is improving since he has been back, and Ginobli is making me wish we had that ley instead of our own infamous mobley

i have no idea what i just wrote....

I still see problems, but we are making progress with each game it seems. I saw us passing the ball up court, rather than dribbling it so much. More time to run plays and no Steve trapped on hte sideline. I like it.

We could be real good by the end of the season.

"Yao Ming hit a pair of late hooks and made two crucial defensive stops, but Jeff Van Gundy said it was not enough.

He wanted more, much more. "I hold him to a higher standard," Van Gundy said of Yao. And the Rockets as a whole seemed to feel the same way.

"He's keeping the fire at my back the whole time," Yao said. "And I've got one glass of water. You have to understand, I've got one glass of water and he's got a whole lot of fire."

    That is funny. :D

    WNBA, rocketman113, RocksMillenium ...

What's with the no-faith, reactionary posts? You guys make the game posts a real terrible read.

By the way, Yao's hook shot was unstoppable. The last two shots were typical example even with RW on his face. :)

I'm relieved they won but man, oh man, Steve, when are you gonna grow up?

I'm glad he hit two clutch shots, one each to close the 3rd and 4th quarters, because almost everything else he did in the 2nd half was blarf.

Same old story: we get a big lead and coast.

Steve would rather not play defense, would rather cheat off Damon, and Damon keeps hitting threes in his face.

Positives? Cuttino and Yao, the former making up for the latter in the free throw department.

Good lord, dont you kneejerkers feel silly now..

    It's over.
    what a choke job
    yadda yadda yadda...

    2 things of note

I dont get why you guys are so surprised that Randolph is so good...he has been all season. He aint some scrub that gets lucky or lights up our D cause we suck...

the kid has it, and he just keeps getting better and better.

Except for the stretch in the 4th where we couldnt buy a bucket...the team played very well. They wont be perfect at all times...sometimes runs happen...We should all be glad they pulled it together at the end and won.

Just so long as he doesn't start reminding us of Nick Anderson, that boy NEVER recovered.

I am actually not impressed. I have seem some of his games last year where he already showed early signs of his explosive offensive game (by the way, he was actually ranked forth by some analysts a few months before he was drafted; but then he had some poor games afterwards so....). That's one of the things with the Portland Blazers, their management team is extremely efficient in terms of picking young, talented players and throw them to the bench for 2 or 3 years until they fully develop their skills. Another good example of it is J. Oneal, who averaged just about 3 points per game in his early years......... but then, Pacers took away their crop when the player finally became mature.....
Anyways, the next future stars that the Blazers are developing now includes Travis Outlaw and Qyntel Woods.... so if the Rocket's management is smart then they should trade for those 2 players over the next 2 summers.....

Yao must fail before he can succeed.

He's going to be still thinking about those FT misses.

That's 4 FT's that he's missed late in the 4th quarter in recent games. He missed two a few games ago and Cato saved his butt. Yao even hugged Cato for that game.

You could tell. It's completely about nerves and mental toughness.

Don't worry. He'll be tested again...

I actually agree with you on that... psychology.

    Yao's thinking too much.

Yao talked about the FT just now on his BBS. He was wondering if he should do extra exercise on FT tomorrow, because he got worried. His mom told him don't. "Because it had nothing with your shotting skill." Duh! ;)
