A true championship team can coast and still win like we do tonight. Relax it's 82 game season, you cant play every night like how it was played in Utah the other night. I can care less about Portland. It's against the big 3 + Utah matters.

Why was the Rockets bench on the left side of the court?
I can't remember them ever being on that side at home!!!

lol... after we started the game shooting hot, and blazers at below 20%, they eventually beat us - 40.8% to 39.6%...

still, I'll take 3-0 any day of the week :)

Something can also be said about the lack of calls. I'm not implying that the refereeing was unfair or biased, but when you spend the majority of the game up 10+, you're not going to get those borderline calls. This leads to numbers being out of whack with actual performance. Tonight the Rockets were in the driver's seat the entire game, and that's all that matters.

It is not that we don't like or love SF3.

No one is flaming Adelman for not playing Steve Francis because it was so obvious that Steve Francis is not yet into his competitive shape and form.

Look at his beer belly !!

If Rick Adelman plays him, it will be unfair to the other Rockets who spent time in the summer to trim down and work themselves into their competitive shape and form.

tmac only had an off "half". he was 7-14 for 15 pts in the first half.

the whole team had an off "half." we just lost interest in the game. but we also tried to run more of the adelman sets and it got stagnant. at least we used this game to experiment the adelman offense. we have to have that pat by the allstar break.

    we'll be ok.

Does JVG get to cover a Rockets game this season on TV?...

Or do they schedule around such potentially uncomfortable situations?...

JVG: 'Next thing I know, I was offered a vice president of ticket sales position within the organization... If you can still call that with-in the organization'...

I don't think it is really fat the picture may make u think it does but it might look like he has a flat stomach the angle is in front which isn't really proof if a side view was better

Seriously, even if Steve Francis is in ABSOLUTELY best shape of his life...he still have YET to prove he fits into the system. He has not shown that during the preseason. So the fact that he's out of shape as coach RA said so..did not help in giving him any min. I prefer Luther lethal 3pt shot to take advantage of double teaming anyway.

This game is not a 9pt victory...it should be 20+ blow out. The ROX just take it easy knowing the Blazers suck!! If it's the Jazz or some other good teams, the ROX will make sure it's 20+ blow out all the way guranteed.

I think it'd been said multiple times before, on this thread no less, that the Blazers are a pretty decent team. Stop demanding the Rockets blow everyone out and then complain when they can't live up to your expectations.

i believe it is....notice how the gut only curves out to the left side (while looking straight).....this gives the illusion that his stomach is bulging out
plus heres some evidence from Johnathon Feign at Chron.com
(Back to reality: Though Francis was not in ideal game shape at the start of camp, he was not and is not fat. If I wrote that he can show off a six-pack, he would be angry with me and correct it to say it's eight, with more ab muscles showing through that just the usual six. We're not talking Bonzi or Sedale Threatt, much less Oliver Miller, here. -- Jonathan)

If Francis was capable of playing, he'd be in the rotation. There's a strong argument that before preseason, Francis was more favored than Alston to either be starting or backup PG (With James guaranteed one of those spots).

If Francis can't even take Head's minutes, I'm sure that's an indication that Francis' ability right now is worse than Head's offense+defensive liability.

I would have love to see Francis get in the game. Either way, good game, 3-0 start. The next two games will tell us alot about this team. I know it is early, but I am eager to see how this team matches us up against SA and Dallas.

The only issue was that from the reports Steve never ran with the starters in practice (according to reports that him and James was on one squad, and Rafer was on the other one with the starters) or the fact that Steve got very spotty minutes in pre-season. Just seem weird to me that if you were penciled in as a starter instead of a guy trying to break in to the rotation that you really don't see the court all that much in the pre-season.

That said, when Francis has being on the court, he doesn't seem to fit in with what Adelman is trying to do. He was still effective, but only in the way of him going iso which is not the system going forward. I don't know if Steve should break in to the rotation, but I think we should support the Rox regardless.

The thing I don't feel comfortable with is the minutes both TMac and Yao have played in two of the three games, each logged near 40 minutes. They will run out of gas in the 2nd half of the season if this trend continues.
