    They need to find a way to free McGrady from those double-teams...no one else is scoring the ball, so they need T-Mac 'forcing it' tonight.

    The problem with that philosophy is that games aren't won soley on effort. I don't question that Rafer is doing the best he can, but that isn't enough. He needs to combine his effort with better decision-making if he wants to be a more effective player. As for JVG, his outright refusal to see the weaknesses of his players bothers me. I happen to be a huge Van Gundy fan, but I've always been irritated by his never-ending devotion to mediocre players.

    I do have one question, since I can't see the game where I am. In the past, the Rockets ran a post play for McGrady on the right block, one in which he came off a screen and flashed to the box to receive an entry pass. Van Gundy ran the same play for Larry Johnson when he was coaching the Knicks, and it was highly effective. Is the play still being used? If not, it might be worth trying to get McGrady the ball closer to the basket.
