can we judge tracy after the playoffs is over and see how far the team has gone? can we judge tracy then? it's like we go through this EVERY year and every year in the playoffs he steps up. so give the man a chance to prove himself AGAIN.
Thats never going to happen most people on this board will judge him after ever bad game. My first thought was to sit him out for about a month that way he could come back 100% healthy. But if the doctors think by him playing it will get better that way then we have to let him play.
If he is going to limp too much, I would just keep him on the bench. The time he could possibly convince me to play him is during practice, he shows me that he can move well up and down the court without any noticable limping.
Maybe some wiser substitutions on Adelman's part once he gauges how T-Mac is feeling and/or performing on a given night would be a problem solver here. T-Mac has shown (in my opinion) that he can feel good and concentrate on some nights and on other, not so much. I think he's still a starter at this point.- CF
How many threads will I ready about the same thing. I mean you see, he is limping a little bit. He was limping against Dallas, but for example before that game against OKC I tought he had moved pretty well. His knee is not gonna get WORSE by playing. He needs to build strength in his leg. You don't do that by SITTING.
the knee is not injured. so if he sits, it's not gonna get better. i don't think people get that point. the knee right now LACKS STRENGTH and is WEAK. he just needs to keep playing on it and after a few more months (hopefully less), it'll regain the necessary strength. we just need to monitor its minutes so the leg won't get fatigued. tracy will be fine. that's why there is a reg. season.
he didn't limp at all since the suns game. he reaggravated the knee in the thunder game b/c adelman had been playing him way too much minutes (43 mins the night before v. the blazers, and 35+ min for the last 3-4 games). that's too much. you take him back slowly. the limping will disappear and we just need to monitor his minutes. like i said, i didn't notice any limpin from the suns to most of the thunder game.
its a no-brainer. even if we take a hit in the win column at least our reserves will get some experience and he will get better and ready to make a run in the latter part of the season.
Sit his ass until he is ready to give 100% on the court everynight. I'm tired of seeing him limping up court when he takes a bad shot. He's a great guy with great talent but if he is a liability and he needs to realize it and let someone like Von Wafer play in his spot if he isn't gonna give 100%.
Sit him until he declares to the media and the world "I have no excuses to suck anymore". Until that sit him, i don´t care if we lose 10 or 30 games, sit him out until he feels that he stops using any excuse everytime he has a bad stretch.
How about for trying to play while recuperating from his surgery, he could very well do what Battier is doing, but he is still trying to play. Same way he played through his injuries in last year's playoffs and gave his all, despite the fact that Yao was out and we had practically 0 shot at beating the Jazz.
Right on the money. "let the T-mac play on, ow right here, right here let the Mcgrady play on, right here, right here" - Barry white
I am in favor of sitting him and working his arse out in rehab......strengthen that knee in rehab...so he can come back strong....and more importantly CONFIDENT. DD
Does TMac help the team or hurt the team? That's a better poll. If his playing hurts the team, it's good for all the parties to let TMac rest and rehab. If he can still help us winning games by playing over others, and it also helps him recovering, then he should play. I think this rule applies to all the players (Yao, Artest, Battier, Alston ... )
Yeah. That is good pool. Of course he is helping. But Rafer, he is always hurting his team, even when HEALTHLY.
Play it by ear and how he feels (1 vote) You can't just sit him till he's 100% That could take forever. He needs to build strength in the leg, so let him play. But if he has a bad day or something where it's really bothering him, sit him.
It's just ridiculous how some fans are satisfied with giving a player who's obviously not ready to play in an NBA competition some slack each and every night while other players who aren't as talented but will hustle and play their asses off sits on the bench.
I think he needs some reduced minutes and a lesser role until he's 100%. That way team will not lost his presence so much as he would be there. And also he wouldn't be sore as he would be if he sits out and goes out again. So reduced minutes and some smart moves are needed.
