ClutchFans Fantasy Baseball Keeper League - Early Check In

    Fantasy football has come and gone, and basketball is the only thing keeping us fantasy sports enthusiasts occupied these days. It's almost time to start thinking about the baseball season again! I'd like for everyone who participated last year to check in here and confirm that you'll be active and playing again. I assume most people will be back, but I'd like to know early if there are any empty spots to fill.

    Later on, we'll get everyone to declare their four keepers and then we'll aim for a draft sometime in March.

    Looking forward to another fun year! :)

    I'd like to considered as a fill in if anyone drops out. I'm your typical annoying Yankees fan, but I love baseball and have been watching and playing it for 20 years.

    I just heard from BobFinn* minutes ago and he actually won't be returning. So, there is indeed an open team. Just a heads up: I usually ask for a contribution from everyone to help cover league site costs on Fanstar (renewing was $59 this time around, so $6 each). I don't know if that will be an issue for you.

    Please let me know either way. :)

    Looking at things, the vacant BobFinn team is actually in pretty good shape. He has some nice possible keeper candidates (Reyes, Berkman, Bedard, K-Rod, Bay or Hamels) and had the worst total points last year so will get the #1 draft choice.

    It looks like you'll get a choice of what team to take over since both Finn and Castor won't be returning. Why don't you look over the league website and see which one you'd like? Pythons and Stuck in Park are the two available teams.

    Each team will keep four players. Draft position will be selected by each owner in accordance with the overall total points accumulated in the previous year. (I.e. Pythons can choose any position 1 through 10; next, Stuck in Park gets to choose from whatever is left, etc, etc...). Draft order will be chosen after keepers are declared.

    2. Open Team #2 (Stuck in Park)
    3. LongHornFan's XTreme Chalupa
    4. The Rook
    5. PhiSlammaJamma
    6. SmegCity Smarmy Gits
    7. Expos

    I cant seem to check the teams for some odd reason even though i was able to do it earlier today. No matter, Pythons is by far the better team (Berkman, K-Rod etc.) so I'll take his team.

    By the way, how did this Yankee fan slip through the cracks, almost a bad enough offense to get you banned as commish :D ......

    However, I do understand your motive here, you want take my focus away from whipping you time after time and have me diverge all my energy and aggression out on "her" instead....... yeah, you hotballa......:p

    Hey, even Yankees fans need love too, sometimes. The Yanks won't be winning a championship with their current personnel anytime soon, so he needs the excitement of fantasy ball to ease the pain. ;)

    This is my first foray into keeper leagues and I'm just glad I have three no-brainer keepers on my squad (Miguel Cabrera, Jimmy Rollins, Roy Oswalt)...

    I'll decide on a fourth keeper before the draft starts...
