Well then could I play 3RP the first series of games (Mon-Thurs) and 1RP the last series of games (Fri-Sun), as the last thing I want to be doing is picking up a bunch of lousy fillers for the playoffs.

Put 2 RP in your lineup and leave them there.

Just make sure you don't exceed 8 SP games for the entire week (period 46 + 47).

Nevermind I figured it out..............like it really matters.

I seem to always get to the playoffs and then my team decides to tank, so expectations are not real high again this year.

No, because the Mon-Thur period has one more day than the Fri-Sun period and that would give your RP an advantage (potential extra save chance) over someone starting 2 for each period.

Looking over your roster, I don't really see the problem. You have the following scheduled for Mon-Thur:

    Maddux
    Petit
    Lohse
    Carmona

    And then Fri-Sun:

    Young
    Carmona
    Billingsley
    Shields
    Saunders
    Lee
    Mussina

You can start 4 and 4, or 3 and 5.

At least your football team is looking strong. I'd say you're the one to beat now after that shrewd under the radar trade.

To be fair, I just added Maddux to give me another Mon-Thurs and Lohse still mentions the 5-game suspension (so afraid to play him). So really I just had Petit (which I was hoping to avoid) and Carmona - but we worked it out and that little Australian guy better watch out.

    SURPRISE.............

Just like my team to get to the playoffs and then tank, I think I called that........

Unfortunately, it is what I expected trying to put together a rag tag pitching line-up so I could start 8, would have been better off just starting the 5-6 I have rode all year, cause that rag tag group got me negative points.

I know it is only Tuesday, but congrats Smeg............now you better win the finals, so at least I can say I lost to the champ.

rook - its way too early to call this thing, my pitchers have plenty of potential to rack up negative scores.. there is a reason you have more points than me for the year

All I know is that everybody here should be breathing a huge sign of relief after a certain squad barely missed the playoffs by 1/2 game after the biggest late season march in all of fantasy sports. ;)

fade - quick question - what happens to the fantasy scores from the Stros postponed games?

Same as for any other postponed game. If the games aren't played during the weekend period, then they don't get counted toward that period. If they occur on Monday or whenever, that's when they get counted.

    Round 1 update:

Rook: 107, 3/8 SP games used
Smeg: 203, 4/8 SP games used

Fade: 126, 5/8 SP games used
LHorn: 165, 3/8 SP games used

I was afraid of this. My team had such a huge game last week, they were due for a low score. Too bad it comes at the worst possible time. Getting zero production from my RPs doesn't exactly help. :(

Longhorn -- Danks ended up not playing this week, so you can actually start 5 SP this weekend if you so desire (and I don't see why you wouldn't want to). You currently only have 4 starting.

Now there is a honest guy, helping out the team he's playing..........just because of that sportmanship alone.........I am rooting for Fade to win it all.........since it looks like I am out, the remainder this week I am in the Hamster's Army.......

But it does bring up a good question, "Would Fade had done the same for me if we were playing against each other?"

    Knowing our rivalry........................probably not.............

I'm not very hopeful. It will take a miracle. I'm in a pretty big hole and the SP disadvantage is just more turd icing on the crapcake. :(

Made a couple of bad management decisions, so I'm not even sure I deserve to win at this point. Didn't play Buehrle and switched out Overbay for stupid Konerko at the last minute. Damn...

Now would be a pretty good time for a CGSO from Johan. He should be due for one of those about now, shouldn't he?

:p You know I would have, but I might have tossed in some sort of barb about you needing all the help you can get or some such.

Oh well, at least football is here, so we will have something else to focus on soon.

Can you put him in my starting lineup? I'm about to shelter down and don't have the time.

Never mind, I guess you already did it. I don't have five starters to start anyways, only four. I also noticed you're starting four starting but you have already used 5 starts. Sneaky bastad! ;)

Yeah, I put Hernandez in my lineup as a backup plan on the off chance that one of my other guys' starts gets rained out or cancelled or whatever due to the crazy weather. Like with any other limit, once I reach the 8 SP game limit, no other subsequent games will count and he will be removed.

You're gonna win, don't worry. I always choke in the playoffs.
