I thought the maximum pitchers you could play is 7..........LH is playing 9 against me...........on top of that no SS or C................

 

Holy crap. You're right... and it's not just this week either. Looking back over the previous games, he's been doing this since at least week 16. I'm surprised nobody noticed it and complained about it until now.

Fixing past results will be messy. To do it, I would have to go back and manually adjust each past lineup in which extra pitchers were played. But, which pitchers do I remove? That's the tricky part. Highest scoring? Lowest scoring? Throw darts at a board and pick them randomly?

Maybe just leave past results as is? The extra pitching games used will hurt him in the end anyway when he runs out of games before everyone else.

Something has to be done immediately for this week, however, so I'm going to remove Longhorn's two highest scoring RPs bringing his total pitchers down to 7.

As for how to deal with the past illegal lineups, I need to think about this and figure something out. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Additionally, while looking at past scores, I also saw that Da Yankees had an illegal lineup in the past as well. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since he's a rookie. Longhorn should probably know better.

From now on, everyone only start up to 7 pitchers total!

Seriously, I had no idea what I was doing there. I've been busy with work, VERY BUSY, and I just noticed this week that I wasn't even starting a catcher or a SS.

You still kicked my ass, Rook.

I SWEAR I was no trying to cheat the system. Why would I ditch two everyday starters for a pitcher who could ruin my score with a bad outing?

I'm now screwed on starting pitching starts, so that really sucks. Sorry guys. Did not mean to ruin the league.

 

Trust me, I figured there was something that just got screwed up with your lineup..........was not trying to make a bid deal about it (definitely did not think you were trying to cheat the system)...........sorry if it came off that way.

I didn't want you to be coming up to the final few weeks of the season and having ally your pitchers innings maxed out...that would suck and your right much better to have the missing positions in your line-up.......

 

No problem at all Rocket, I was just upset I've been playing with an illegal lineup for god knows how long. It wasn't a shot at you whatsoever. I'm glad you posted about it so it caught my attention.

I REALLY screwed up.

 

Okay, here's the decision:

It's entirely too much work, and would create too much of a mess, to go back and retroactively change past scores and results. So, we're going to just keep them as is. I toyed with the idea of a penalty, but I don't want to punish an honest mistake if that was indeed the case, so there will be no penalty.

However, going forward the policy will be this: if there are more than 7 pitchers in a starting lineup, I will remove the highest scoring pitcher from that lineup and there will be no replacement positional player inserted.

If I wasn't traveling so much in the past few months, I would have caught this much earlier while adding up the pitching games used, but I hadn't had a chance to do that until now. Oh well, c'est la vie.

That said, here is an update on pitching games used through week 28:

Rook: 83 SP, 69 RP
Aliens: 85 SP, 80 RP
DarkHorse: 82 SP, 72 RP
chrisjent: 89 SP, 72 RP
Da Yankees: 85 SP, 105 RP

Expos: 89 SP, 79 RP
LHFan: 110 SP, 86 RP
Smeggy: 102 SP, 87 RP
Punks: 73 SP, 104 RP
PSJ: 97 SP, 76 RP

Maximums: 155 SP, 130 RP. Once they`re used up, you can no longer start anyone at that position.

According to my calculations, at their respective paces, teams will run out of pitching games in these weeks:

Rook: SP 52, RP 53
Aliens: SP 51, RP 46
DarkHorse: SP 53, RP 51
chrisjent: SP 49, RP 51
Da Yankees: SP 51, RP 35

Expos: SP 49, RP 46
LongHorn: SP 39, RP 42
Smeg: SP 43, RP 42
Punks: SP 59, RP 35
PSJ: SP 45, RP 48

There are only 45 game periods so some of you are ahead of the pace and others are behind.

 

DaYankees, you need to try and drop one of your relief pitchers (like Capps, since I believe he is injured anyways) and put in your UI before the games start......if for no other reason as your going to run out of RP before the end of the season.

 

I don't think he's even checking the league any longer. Wasn't he banned from ClutchFans?

 

I forgot how we've done it in the past, but how is the All Star week scoring done?

 

Pretty sure Thursday's games get added onto the fri-sun period.

 

Anyone need a starting pitcher? I've got a ton of good starters and need an OF/C/SS.

Roy Halladay is the only one that is untouchable. He's one of my keepers next year.
