Personally, I prefer Hibbert with Yao's health always in question. He can play 18mins per right now and provide size while learning from deke and Yao. I like rush, but I'd rather get that swngman via free agency. If we're in win now mode, don't know if this is a good move.
If Rush has all the potential thats been hyped about in this forum we will be lucky to draft him at 25. The only way we can get him is to move up the draft. Can someone posts a lists of players we will be willing to part with to move up the draft. Just curious.
Possible Trades on Draft Day? Does anybody have any information or any sources that a realistic trade that might happen on draft day or in the next weeks please?
I'm hoping we can trade up by giving away luther head and cash but in reality we'd have to trade down to get rid of him.
Yes. We all have information on several very real possibilities for draft day trades the Rockets may make. However, we've discussed it and we have come to the conclusion that we don't want you to know about any of them. As such, we've all vowed not to discuss it on the board.
none whatsover. it's interesting to note that portland are already adding two rookies in oden and fernandez before the draft. on top of those two they hold the 13th, 33rd, 36th, 55th picks, and the draft rights to joel freeland (30th pick, 2006). freeland's a first rounder pf/c from 2006, another pick by pritchard. it wouldn't cost the rockets a roster spot or effect their salary cap to buy his draft rights. seattle have the 4th, 24th, 32nd, 46th, 50th, and 56th picks. in the sonics case as long as they're in seattle. they probably want more minimum contracts, more losses, and less attendance.
This morning, Adam Clanton suggested that there is a trade rumor involving Shane Battier. There were no details given, and Battier wasn't even explicitly named, but given the proximity of the draft, if this rumor is valid, I think it is entirely plausible to think Battier might be used in some way in the draft. So, take that FWIW
Trading Battier would be a mistake -- he's the most consistent perimeter threat for a Yao-focused Houston team. YM, TM, SB, and LS should be untouchable.
I think you're using "untouchabel" a little too lightly here. Quality role players, like Battier, should never be considered untouchable.
I can't see the Rockets moving up without loosing Shane. But an ideal scenario would be with blazers involving Travis Outlaw and flip flop picks.
It would be ideal for Houston, but I really can't figure out why Portland would do it. Having Battier as a veteran presense is really over-rated. Outlaw showed signs of becoming an excellent role player.
If u get Outlaw for Battier which is a no brainer, u could use the mle to get Barnes, Davis or Posey. I wish people stop putting guys like shane as untouchable.
Assuming T-Ming isn't being broken up, Shane is the biggest bargaining chip the Rockets have. I would hope he fetches something significant in return.
lol you like him just cos he got a girls name. no it doesnt quite rhyme. this would be better I think lol: courtney lee is what we need got a girls name and doesnt eat weed
