I emailed the Wynn Macau and they told they will start having craps on the 28th of this month. woo!

yeah, I should be fine for the Oct 8th. I'll have internet access in my hotel.

Is this the first time one of the USA Clutchfan superstars goes to visit China? Has Jeff or Clutch gone up there?

    have no fear,
TINMAN will visit you! its official, I will be arriving next week at the Lan Kwai Fong Hotel from 7-10th, and I'll be in Macau for the 11th (Mandarin Oriental Hotel).

Lets plan for the 8th to meet up for some food/drinks/gambling/etc.
for those who saw God of Gamblers, can you tell me what card game he was playing? it was some asian poker like game, but it wasn't Texas hold em.

It's not poker but similar in some ways. It's a very exciting card game which involves a lot of strategy and mind games. Basically there are 5 turns in each game and it's a 1 vs 1 match. The card dealer gives you and your opponent one card every turn. Either you or your opponent makes a bet in each turn and the other side can decide whether to match the bet or give up. After all the 5 turns has been completed, the one who has a stronger combination of the 5 cards wins the jackpot which is the total of the bets in all the 5 rounds.

Well, maybe someone else can describe the game better than I did. You can also watch the early Chow Yun Fat's Gamblers movies to get an idea of how the game is played.

See how the weather turn out to be on Monday night (Oct 8), if it is good, then perhaps I can take you to the Peak and have some sight-seeing after the dinner (around Central perhaps). If it is too foggy, then we go directly to Sai Kung and have some sea food. What do you think? Any other Hongkongers want to join?

And for your question about the poker game, it's Five-card Stud (but we call it "Show Hand" in Hong Kong).

I think 007 play the same game in Casino Royale (2006) too.

I visited Macau several days ago in the National holidays. Sands are Ok, Wynn is so so(the gambling hall is divided into too many sections for my taste, looks scattered), and the Venetian is the best IMO. The slot machines returns more money, free drinks including coffee, milk tea and orange juice. I highly recommend going to the Venetian. The place is simply GRAND. There is free buses from Sands to the Venetian. Another must go place is Dai Sam Ba, shops around that area sell Chinese snacks and let you taste for free.

Welcome to HK, Tinman. I have just sent you an email through the bbs. Let's meet at your hotel lobby this evening (7:00pm), if you have some other plans today and like to change the meeting place, please feel free to call me.

Here's some recommended restaurants for your dim sum brunch this morning.

    Lin Heung Tea House
    http://www.virtualtourist.com/trave...rants-Hong_Kong-Lin_Heung_Tea_House-BR-1.html
    Tel. 2544 4556
This is a traditional Cantonese Restaurant, very cheap but they serve good and traditional dim sum. Close to your hotel (I think 5 to 10 mintues walking distance). Ask your hotel concierge to show you the path.

    Yung Kee Restaurant
    http://www.yungkee.com.hk/whatsnew/whatsnew-e.html
    Tel. 2522-1624
Expensive place but their Roasted Goose/Duck is probably the best in Hong Kong. Close to your hotel too (15 minutes walking distance).

You may want to go to the restaurant before 12:00 noon to avoid the crowd.

Hong Kong is both modern and classic, very similar to New York.
The last photo was at some park in central Hong Kong, clearly they like the Carolina blue uniforms ala Kenny Smith.
