Robert Horry and Sam Cassell answered questions yesterday for the All-Star Game Shooting Stars Event and they talked a lot about the Rockets championship years, Hakeem Olajuwon, the Barkley trade that sent them both to the Suns and even the current Rockets team. Good stuff.

It's busy, but it's been a lot of fun. Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler (of course), Kenny Smith, Vernon Maxwell and Mario Elie are also is in town. Cassell really wants to see Otis Thorpe.

If you are in Houston and want to experience some of the All-Star Game here in town, I'd recommend going to the NBA Jam Session at the George R. Brown. It's great for families and they have a lot of events going on there.

It's really a wild time out there in downtown Houston... I've run into several players just walking between the George R. Brown and the Toyota Center.

Nice!!! Posting from my phone and watching on my computer!!

I miss the guys and those teams. Good to hear Sam mention guys like Chucky Brown and Earl Cureton, everyone contributed.

Sam "To this day, I still don't know why they traded me and this guy(Horry) next to me"

Horry on the Barkley trade: "Can I say it, it was dumb"

Love what Horry says about Hakeem being the best, even mentions that Hakeem could shoot threes, we just never saw it. I seem to remember a pretty big three in the finals when the team was closing out, though:grin:

    Thanks for posting Clutch

I hated that trade with a passion - and I was a huge Barkley fan at the time too. It's always good to hear from Horry and Cassell. Their love and respect for Olajuwon is unequivocal.

That team got assraped every time they played the Sonics with Cassell/Horry. Thats why the deal was made. If Horry showed up once in a while in the regular season they might have never made the deal. They knew he would never play well enough to justify the contract he was about to get so they made the deal.

Thanks a lot!! Any chance Maxwell is going to be involved, my guess is no since Alexander probably still hasn't forgiven him for his 1995 antics. It makes sense Thorpe is the only one not there living in the area since he was always the quiet, stay away from the media kind of guy.

    Clutch,

Can you get an interview with Max or/and OT?

We will nominate you for the Pulitzer Prize of Journalism if that happens.

Haha no doubt. It doesn't seem like OT's there, we would've heard about it. Cassell didn't really answer when he said if he's going to call him, so I'm wondering if anybody's really in contact with him. If I were Alexander, I would've actually made it happen and bring the Clutch City team back together and make it a big event.

OT lives out here in Austin/Round Rock.

I saw OT once at the McDonald's drive thru in La Grange.

I yelled out "OT!!" he smiled and gave me a thumbs up.

I guess lots of new fans don't know OT. if you thought Yao Ming was humble, he makes him look like Kanye West.

He could also replace Shaq on TnT.

Shaq was horrible last night after losing to Charles, he wouldn't stop yacking.

Horry was schooling people on the interview:

Dream could guard a guard and shoot free throws

could Tim or Shaq guard a guard? could shaq shoot free throws?

thats Clutch City ownage to the Nth degree

Also loved how Cassell mentioned that the team chemistry was so great and that everybody loved each other and knew their roles

Shaq is pretty much always horrible. EJ, Kenny, and Chuck are perfect.

I agree with Bob, we would have been okay if we would have gotten Kevin Willis and Eddie Johnson without the trade.
