QUESTION: Before the 3 Superstar Heat signings, teams could rely on players staying on their teams or going for max deals -- never colluding to join up and take pay-cuts. Is this a once in 40 years event? Or will what's unfolded cause teams to adjust the way they collect assets or cap-space. Id thee any other way these signing would change how GMs would approach strategy?
so no questions about the heat whatsoever no questions specifically about another teams player under contract i am heading out soon to the gym so i have selected about 7-8 questions that i felt he would probably answer to the fullest.
Thanks, The_Yoyo!!! I didn't read through the other questions, so I don't know if this has been asked: How much will the desire for salary cap flexibility for this February and next summer affect the team's willingness to spend its MLE this summer? Is the team willing to spend the MLE on a quality role player at the expense of its ability to make a more significant move when it may have cap room next summer? While I imagine that he'll say that the Rockets are always looking to improve the team and will explore every option, I'd really like to know how big a factor flexibility is for them.
QUESTION: Given the previous successes in finding gems late in the draft picks and being praised by the media gaining advantages from several trades, do you feel that other GMs in the league have become very cautious when dealing with you and do you find that it is more difficult to close a deal then before?
He is still quite raw,and hesitant at times. His turnaround jumper is nice. I don't know if he can be compared to anyone right now. Sorry,I didn't realize that question was for Morey.
What's the status of contract negotiations with Scola and Lowry? You say you want them but you are waiting and things could get tense between both parties if the wait goes too long. How do you stay positive with them while they have to wait for other offers to roll in?
So Morey can not talk about other team's players all the time to anyone, including a casual chat with a fan, a friend or his wife?
My question(s) is this: Where do you see the Rockets in five years? How are you helping them move in that direction with the current roster? With all of the hype that's been going round' this offseason about superstars I think that many people forget how people become superstars. That being said, I'm wondering if there are any players on the current Rockets roster that have that potential to become superstars and, if so, how would you like to see them get there? Have you ever considered trading Yao?
Good questions there. Ask him about the CBA and how it will affect the Rockets in future negotiations with players.
To Morey: It is evident watching Maartey Luenen that he is ready to make an NBA roster but it would seem we do not have a place for him. Is there a possibility we could move Maartey ala San Antonio and Luis or do you have other plans for him?
