Morey should hold out until the deadline as long as the team continues to play well.

If Jones and/or D'Mo emerges, perhaps Morey trades for a 1st rd pick instead of an established player.

With the new CBA you need players contributing on rookie contracts (especially with multiple max players on the roster). Otherwise you get an OKC/Harden situation.

Perhaps he trades Asik for a pick and uses that additional cap space to extend Parsons.

What he wants or deserves is irrelevant. He signed a contract to do what his employer asks of him in exchange for millions of dollars.

If he doesn't like that, he can quit. No one is forcing him to do anything.

I'm interested in the next move from Asik and Ilyasova's agent. He's gone public, resulting in Asik not playing. I don't think he'll get Ilyasova to pressure the bucks like that. I think if this continues for much longer, he will start releasing more rumors to the press and turn up the pressure on both teams.

I haven't watched the game yet, but I notice in the box score my man didn't even suit up? I think the fact that we are winning without him increases his trade value. This is because we don't appear desperate to unload him. I say hold him until the deadline. We can even afford to let him walk if push came to shove. I don't like the idea of an $8M cap hit not suiting up, but Morey is in a good position if we are winning without him. Going to hurt like hell when we play the bigger front lines like SAS and LAC though. But I saw in another thread Chandler mention that Asik would get a ton of minutes with the injuries to Gregg Smith and the release of Camby.

He is only hurting his market value. His agent is not doing him any favors going into a contract year next season. He could easily command $10-$12M by averaging 14/12, but his attitude will decrease that. If math serves me correctly, that will in turn decrease his agent's cut.

Exactly. I feel bad he didn't get the situation he expected but he signed a contract and is being paid millions? What if he had been a bust and the rockets hadn't gotten what they wanted? They would have still had to pay him. Similarly, he should be putting his best effort on the floor and complaining all he wants behind the scenes. His antics have cost the rockets leverage in a trade as well as an excellent backup center when Dwight is off the floor. I am surprised the rockets don't fine him or suspend him. He's sunk his value enough as it is. I was a big fan of his last year. Lin sucked it up when he was demoted. He is making the 6th man role work. Maybe Asik might have made the TT role work too if he tried harder. In any case even if TT was never going to work he should have complained behind the scenes. Going public hurt the rockets (unless they agreed to his going public in which case I will take back what I've said).

It's a sad and unhappy situation. Asik can still be a critical contributor for us.even though the TT experiment has not been successful. He has shown flashes of solid defense and rebounding in the season, and extreme unhappiness as well.

He should act professionally, and play hard until a mutually beneficial situation arises for the Rockets.
Right now,Morey's bargaining position has been weakened.

If Asik had bought into the team concept, this team would have taken a GIANT step towards a championship. A backup big of Asik's caliber anchoring the second unit could have been a huge advantage. But alas, it's not to be.

With Smith down,Camby waived, and Asik reportedly checking himself out, the backup big list has gotten pretty thin. We may be seeing the return of the run-and-gun small ball from last year until the Rockets find an acceptable deal for Asik.

Perk is crap, but adams is a future star.

Perk is our penalty for adams.

    Okc win now needs asik.

We can play adams backup and try to flip perk

Wassup guys, I'm new to the site. What do you all think about this trade?

    Houston: Ilyasova, Whitney
    - Clear front court clutter.
    - Acquire a young, proven stretch Forward.
    - Acquire a young, defensive-minded Center.

Milwaukee: Evans, Roberts, 2nd Round Pick(s) (Houston)
    - Acquire a young, starter-caliber Guard/Forward.
    - Acquire a young, competent backup Point Guard.
    - Acquire picks.

    New Orleans: Asik, Ridnour
    - Clear backcourt clutter.
    - Acquire a top 5 defensive and rebounding Center.
    - Move Davis to natural position. (Power Forward)
    - Acquire a competent backup Point Guard with veteran experience.

Everyone wins in this trade, I hope Morey pulls this off. #InMoreyWeTrust #RedNation

That would work for both parts Asik doesn't want to play as a back up. Neither does Perk but Asik would help Okc and Adams would be Nice next to Howard. But idk if OKC would be willing to do this they might get burn twice by Morey.

Like i have said Asik needs to focus and stop the whining or pouting. He didn't play yesterday because of his attitude and coz we might be trying to keep him from getting hurt. His value is still there, he is a good center and defense and rebounds well.

He has very slippery hands, usually cant catch a bounce pass or a regular pass. the worst part of his game is he misses lay ups and misses dunks right in front of the rim is really bad. He isn't an all-star he is just a decent center maybe it went to his head and he thinks he is much better than he really is. He shouldn't be demanding anything. He is getting paid and if u moved to the bench coz of another player was signed well too bad ur not the only one. He should be patient and just play hard. He should be showing people that he is better than dwight then or has improve his game.

I hope we play him just till we can move him but if he doesn't show effort of any kind of positive attitude lets just sit him till we do. if that happens, He will get rusty and won't be good for this season for whichever team gets him

i liked Asik. He was great for us last year. We gave him an opportunity and the rox gave him his big pay which he wouldn't have gotten as much if he had just stay w chicago. We showed cased him last year and he showed he had

Do people honestly think OKC would even consider letting go of Adams?
He is the legit 4th most important player to that franchise.

    He is 20 years old.

He will be starting for them come Playoff time.
