I don't think many teams are interested in Asik as a bench player. His contract is too high. The teams that would have been interested in him probably still are.

could see kings wanting to put Cousins at 4, Asik at 5.

 

Man if I was a top tier center like Asik and I have the best Center in the game on my team, I wouldn't ask for a trade. I would stay and compete with Dwight everyday and get better.

 

I wonder if Golden State would be willing to part with Harrison Barnes for Asik? Using a trade exception, this would be possible.

Barnes is a 3 naturally but Parsons can play the 4. He is a 45% 3 point shooter this season and is steadily improving.

This move would also allow us to save some cash for the future and makes Parsons expendable if worse comes to worse.

Only issue would be Golden State would be a beast. Bogut's health there was one of the biggest issues they face (Curry's ankles being the other) and they could actually still deal Bogut and get something nice...Also, I believe Asik is better defensively.

 

I'd like to see barnes on the team , but I don't think GS would take Asik because they have just signed huge extension with bogout which is a very overrated player ...

thats just easy for you to say. not so much for a competitor like Asik. What good comes out Asik sitting on the bench. thats not getting better

 

You do know, that if you look at rebounds, points or any stat per game for that matter is closely related to minutes played? Asik managed to pull down 62 % rebounds per game compared to last year in 60% minutes played. (If the bold numbers in your post were not what you meant to show, then ignore my post)

 

Never heard that a role player in NBA keeps asking to be traded. Rockets already lost two or more games due to the experiment with this guy. This dude need understand that it takes time to trade his ass since he is not that good. The guy is earning something like $8M per year without doing much something, just be professional, you are under the contract.

 

I am not sure what your "a role player" means. if you are talking about superstar. yes he is a role player. then there are tons of cases a lot of role players requested a trade. if you are talking about backup, no he isn't a backup. he is starter material. it is very normal for a starter to request a trade.

you are not in his shoe. he is very competitive. even playing 20+ min with TT lineup, his role has been reduced dramatically. he has not been involved in any offense any more. all of his limited offense chances during the last season have been given to howard. look at his offense #s this season vs last season, you know what I am talking.

I would be surprised if he hadn't showed his frustration. I believe now both sides came on the same page, rox looking for trading him and he taking whatever role rox give him and being professional before the trade.

I think Asik should accept his role but if he persists in being traded I'm happy to know that pretty much anyone they get only further stacks the deck. I'd be looking for a player to back up Harden at the 2. Someone to upgrade the bench, I don't think a 3rd superstar is in the works, at least this year but someone who can come in where Garcia or Casspi come in and upgrade them. I don't think a stretch 4 is necessary either, between Jones developing a 3, Motiejunas, Casspi or Parsons I think they've got plenty of options there.

 

1) The huge paycheck for Paul Gasol is unacceptable for this team.
2) Pau is not all star any more. His efforts on both ends are very limited.
3) Pau would cry about the space in the paint, what will cause the chemistry issue.
So Asik for Paul Gasol is out of the question.

 

We have no shot at landing Aldridge or Love, so........who should we go for? Millsap?

If we could someone swing Ibaka, I would be ecstatic. I am not be opposed to helping OKC get better if it benefits us enough. Seems a bit more realistic to me than Aldridge.

Ibaka would increase our paint defense (no easy buckets) and IMO defense is what helps win championships the most. Having the opponent forcing low quality shots and turnovers can lead to fast breaks, easy buckets. Some nights our shooting will be off, but if our defense is there we wont be down by a large amount.

Aldridge is a long shot, as is Ibaka, and Love is a pipe dream (as in put down the pipe). Other than that I would take Millsap or Ilyasova (preferablly Millsap).

No way Minny does that, Love is a beast. Don't get me wrong, I would do just about anything to get him here, but it just ain't gonna happen. After we get Love, our first round picks aren't going to be worth much. Jones could turn into a decent prospect, but would they gamble on that? I highly doubt it. The best bet we have is waiting until he's a free agent (not that I advocate doing that).

Aldridge has at least reported in the past that he was unhappy with the Blazers but I haven't heard the same from Love.
