So the 1 seeds are now set. Duke, Pitt, OSU, and Kansas. 2 and 3 seeds will be hard to determine but I believe the locks for 2 seed are Notre Dame and SDSU.
It's a disgrace. VCU and UAB get in to the field, and a squad from a power-6 conference with 3 wins over Kansas State and 1 over Texas gets snubbed. What baffles me is that Georgia got a f***ing 10-seed, yet Colorado, who has a better resume IMO, doesn't even make the tourney. The last 4 should have been Clemson, Colorado, VA Tech, and USC.
It's so easy to pick KU and OSU right now.. but it's all about match ups. Last season... N. Iowa upset KU... Faroukmanesh killed them. This year with an even more evenly matched tournament, I don't know what the hell is going to happen. I mean I think I could see an 6 seed end up in the elite 8 if they get the right match ups.
It can be done by Thursday. The 4 games to determine the last 4 spots start Tuesday and play until Wednesday. First Round March 16 16 UTSA 16 ALST3/16 6:30 First Round March 15 12 UAB 12 CLEM3/15 9:00 First Round March 16 11 USC 11 VCU3/16 9:00 First Round March 15 16 UNCA 16 UALR3/15 6:30
Boy Texas got a tough draw, was hoping they'd sneak into a 3rd seed, but no luck there. As someone mentioned, surprising that Colorado was left out, and poor VA Tech again...but they really didn't help themselves much after that Duke win.
Doing a bracket challenge on cbssports as well. If anyone would like to join, message me your e-mail and i'll invite ya!
I don't watch nearly enough college basketball to make serious noise but this was fun last year, so I'm in.
You do know that Georgia beat Colorado head to head, right? But I do agree that Colorado and Virginia Tech should have been in over UAB and VCU. Outside of that, my biggest problems were the seedings as the committee completely mis-seeded some teams - example Texas (should have been 3 not 4) Florida (should have been 3 or 4, definitely not a 2) Utah State (should have not been a 12, probably more like a 9 or 10) Missouri (should have not been a 11, probably more like a 8, 9, or at worst a 10) Tennessee and Michigan also not seeded right.
