Wow, none of my Final 4 teams made it to the Final 4. Kansas Kansas St. Kentucky Baylor My bracket is absolutely horrible.
Um... that's one of the very things in question, since the NCAA puts the bracket together. Funny how Duke managed to A) pass a Syracuse team that most ranked ahead of them based on regular season resume, thus not getting shipped to the West, B) get by far the 2 seed with the weakest resume (Villanova) and C) get the 4 seed (Purdue) missing its best player.
Well I've got 2 out of 4. My new rule - never ever pick against Tom Izzo. That guy always seems to find a way into the final four.
<br> Um okay. If it was any other team in the same position, people would be arguing the same exact thing. The NCAA is like that. We see it in college football/basketball. Both systems are questionble, albeit football moreso. The point is, sometimes one team gets the luck of the draw sometimes another. You can't really do anything about it... But, he and I were discussing just this game. It had nothing to do with horrible officiating. Duke made plays when it mattered, Baylor did not. It is as simple as that.
I hope West Virginia kicks their tushy... and I hate Bob Huggins!!! Tom Izzo's Michigan State team ftw!!!
This is just not true. Baylor made an enormous play when it mattered - in a second half where no team could gain much separation, Quincy Acy drove to the basket, made a tough shot and took contact. It would've given them a 5-point lead with 4:00 left, and fouled out one of Duke's better players, who later grabbed an important rebound. If not for that call, does Baylor win? I don't know. I'm not saying that. But to act as if that call had nothing to do with it is just plain wrong. That is a play that Baylor did make, and an error that Duke did make. The officials simply took it away. It did have some impact - simple as that.
