not that it mattered but i liked how kerr said mizzou's coach was telling the team to call timeout no matter what and as soon as they got that rebound with 3.8 seemingly everyone on the team started running like they weren't calling timeout. coaching has got to age you quickly. mizzou was the first 30 win team from the big 6 conferences to not get a 1 seed. i guess we know why.
i actually thought that was a pretty good play. i think too many teams make the mistake of trying way too tough of an inbounds pass and get it stolen. they got it in to a guy on the run and got a shot only about 4 feet behind the 3 point line with a pretty good look with only 3 seconds to do it. it was better than i thought they'd get.
Damn Norfolk St. Ruined my perfect ESPN bracket and cost me a final four team on CF. Seriously though, I was rooting for them in the end. Those kids got heart.
He was rushed and somewhat off balanced while 3-4 feet behind the 3pt line. Nice in theory but the inbound pass didn't lead him enough, there was no apparent backup valve in the middle and the defender was never drawn off/ picked before or during the inbound. Good in theory but not too well executed.
I loved his interview with Craig afterward. That's what NCAA basketball is all about. I'm happy for the kids...plus I had mizzo losing to Florida in the next round
In the end, though, it was a makable shot and that is all you can ask for with 3 secs left and starting in the backcourt. The norfolk kid cut him off well but backed off when he elevated for the shot. Sure he was off balance, but it was a decent look. Congrats to Norfolk St. regardless. I hope they are the cinderella (until they play Murray St:grin
Damn, you're so right. I just checked and Norfolk St was so unpopular that getting that pick wrong did not drop me at all in the Around the Horn rankings. Still tied for #1. lol
No major damage to the Dracket so far. I've lost 3 of my sweet 16, but that's it. Elite 8 is intact as I'm typing this.
