Here is my opinion about this:

I think that Tracy will be out for another 3 to 4 weeks getting in shape.
I think the organization is doing the right thing by making sure Tmac gets back in basketball shape and learns the roation and plays.

If the Rockets right now were 2-10 right now....Tracy would be playing
However, the rockets proved they dont need tracy right now to compete.
Therefore, they can allow Tmac to get 100% ready so....

    Prediction-
Tracy comes back in Jan looking really really good....
Trade deadline comes around and Tmac looks better in a trade and we trade him ..... that simple

Well, thank you, mikol! BTW, how does one rep another? I have no idea? A little help, someone... I've plenty of rep to give, too.

Superiority complex on an internet message board equals tons of failure. Calling someone a "rookie" is also a failed attempt at being condescending.

McGrady's trade value is his contract and the insurance money. It has nothing to do with him coming back and looking really good. The only teams interested in trading for a "really good" McGrady are borderline playoff teams or teams looking to win a championship. They do not have the talent to be able to dump $20 million worth of salary back and still be a top contender. He will not get traded to any team except a cellar dweller team looking for salary relief.

    Miami...
    Washington...

A healthy McGrady packaged with Scola could put these teams over the top. And I think they have the contracts to make it work...

    Jermaine O'Neal
    Michael Beasley

    Antawn Jamison
    Mike Miller
    Javale McGee

Name me one team that would be willing to trade for him in order to improve their team and make some noise in the playoffs. Then we can talk about nonsense.

It's not nonsense. It's the reality of the situation.

No contender is gutting their team for a half a season rental. McGrady would only be attractive to contenders if he were waived.

If the Rockets want talent for McGrady's contract it'll come from salary dumping lottery teams.

There are plenty of competitive teams with bloated mediocre contracts that would love to dump those contracts on us and pick up a half-season rental that will expire (and allow them to play the free agent market).

Tons of teams. Problem is, Morey doesn't want those contracts. It's not other teams, it's Morey.

    As dada would say: Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!

Why would Morey trade for "bloated mediocre contracts"?

Because he would be getting a great asset to go with these contracts...

Who does Miami have that we want that they're willing to trade? We're obviously not going to get Wade, they're not going to trade O'Neal for McGrady as he's by far their best option at center, and I don't think we need Chalmers or Haslem that badly. (Maybe we get Chalmers and he becomes our new backup for future seasons and we don't resign Lowry? Maybe, but Chalmers isn't worth the bad contracts we would have to take to get just him).
Wizards I don't know enough about. I would like getting Butler, but what would we have to give up to get him?

Tracy McGrady and Luis Scola (Maybe more?) for Jermaine O'Neal and Beasley...

Probably a similar deal with the Wiz... Tracy McGrady and Luis Scola for something involving Jamison/Butler and McGee imo...

McGrady and Scola for O'Neal and Beasley? How about trying to get Wade from them too?
