My guess is this is how it will shake out...

    Lin / Beverly / Brooks
    Harden / Brooks / Garcia
    Parsons / Delfino
    DMo / TRob
    Asik / DMo / Smith

Why is this 'too bad'? I don't want any of our players thinking their position is secure. Added pressure to Beverly is a good thing.

Frontloaded contracts are only rare because they don't really benefit teams much. For a player, it's not an obstacle. Whether it's a signing bonus or a deal structured to descend. It's just more cash up front for the player.

A signing bonus has to be a guaranteed multi-year deal for all those years.

I'm guessing this "frontloaded" offer was directed at Llull.

Delfino and Cisco will definitely share some minutes at both wing spots, with Carlos getting much more of the burn.

Parsons is also the backup PF for small ball.

I think it looks a bit more like this

    Lin / Beverly / Brooks
    Harden / Delfino / Brooks / Garcia
    Parsons / Delfino / Garcia
    DMo / Parsons / TRob
    Asik / TRob / DMo /Smith

    Trob can't play backup C. That's Smith's role.

My guess as well. I suspect AB will see more minutes at the 2 than we think

I agree. Lin and Brooks could be a good pairing in the backcourt. Lin would have the cover the 2 on D.

I think I am more curious about who is going than the fact Brooks is resurfacing.

I would love Bima's take on this: if Honey is cut then what becomes of his contract buy-out after the season for $100K? Is it locked in? Anderson has the DM the GM typical non-guarantee moving forward.

Garcia has no real role here and his utility as a trade piece is minimal (or less, I believe) so he is the one for whom a Cisco Appreciation Thread is destined in a few hours.

    Or I am completely wrong.

Yeah, there actually is more minutes at the back up 2 where he can do what he does best, shoot threes and drive and dish. Parson seems to be guarding the scoring wing late in games anyway.

Actually, Derek Fisher plays for the thunder now. I remember how hopeless it was for him to try to stay in front of Brooks.

Nash is even slower than Fisher if you can believe it

Not slower. Just doesn't care about defense at all.

I wonder if this was a back room part of the Patterson for Robinson trade. The Rockets throw in some cash and the Kings waive Brooks by the first.
