By that barometer, only 35 qualified centers were NBA players last year. Heck Omer Asik only played about 20 per game. Of course situation plays a big role. I'm not sure why it is a big deal though. It is pretty accepted that he could fill a backup role and be solid, but has limited to no upside beyond that.

I didn't say that. He is ready to be a backup at the C position right now. That means playing about 15 mpg. His role will mostly be determined by his team. You obviously are very heated about this but you can't seem to define what you mean or acknowledge that define it much higher means you are generally excluding the term to far less than 1 rookie per team.
