Varejao would mean the end of pursuing Howard....which is why we won't do this deal. His contract is guarenteed through 2014.

Morey is not going to make a deal for Dwight Howard at the deadline. They need the whole season to try and convince him to stay.

One thing I love is that no matter what we're not going to pick 14 this draft.

    I'm sick of picking 14.

that should not be the reason why we don't deal picks for Varejao, but as long as it doesn't happen I'll be happy (no matter the reason).

Both MKG and Barnes are bench players or starters on really bad teams.

For some reason I think we end up with Josh Smith and their #23 pick.

What kind of statement will the Rockets make if they take draft picks but still intend to pursue Howard after July 1st?

Everybody gets hats and presser, "this is who we had rated highly and wanted all along" and a week later they are shipped out.

Clutchfans gets a 10,000 posts analyzing the future then BAM.

Why do you think MGK will be a roleplayer in the NBA?

I think that he will be star.

No way i'd do that either. I see the Cavs requiring a team to take on Varejao in a trade for the #4 pick.

On Dwight Howard front, source close to the situation said there's a collective yawn on Orlando's side regarding all the chatter about Houston making its push to land the big man. It certainly doesn't sound like Howard will be dealt tonight, or anytime soon, especially considering the Rockets' inability so far to land top 10 picks.

screw orlando. they're in a much worse bargaining position. Howard is as good as gone. we need to flip the switch on them.

Wow, that is interesting information -- I did not realize that was the case. Thanks for pointing it out. I am seriously surprised to see that, because, watching them play, I would have thought the opposite. I still don't like Barnes, but that gives me something to think about.

    Public Posturing

But given Brooklyn's limited assets to offer, a Max deal and hero status in Orlando might end up being Dwight's best option.

Sounds about right from Orlando's side, we don't own a top 10 pick and do people really expect for them to trade Howard for #12, 16 & 18 + whoever's on our team.
