If Morris is playing the 3, and they put a PF on him, that means either:
a.) the other team's 3 is guarding our 4 (Scola/Patterson/etc.) or our 5 (umm...let's go with tbd). If that's the case, we've just created a different mismatch, and at a minimum, gives us a huge offensive rebounding advantage as their 4 is now out guarding Morris on the perimeter

b.) The opponent now has a "jumbo" front line. In most cases, their offense has now been effected as they will have 3 interior players, and struggle to get appropriate spacing.

Bingo. Morris's ability to post up out of the block seperates him from a lot of players. In the playoffs thats invaluable especially when presented with different mismatches. The kid has perfect form on his jumper also, but its his ability to be productive out of the block that will make him a ton of money in the future. The jury will be out to see if he can defend some of the quicker SFs and bigger SGs in the league.

Scola is going to have a field day, when the opposing team has their 4 on Morris and their 3 guarding Scola. He will overpower many of the sfs like Trevor Ariza, Tayshaun Prince, Caron Butler, Maggette, Jefferson, Gay, Grant Hill, Peja, Dunleavy, Turkoglu, Gallinari, Quentin Richardson, etc.

    Wow.

Post up, fadeaway jumpers, emphatic dunks, shooting range out to NBA 3 point line, good passing ability, reasonable handle of the ball and not a defensive liability.

    I am sold.

Absolutely. Sounds to good to be true, right? Man, I am anxiously waiting to see what Morris can do against NBA s/f. If he can do all of the above (I believe he can) and reasonably defend his man (question mark), we will have gotten ourselves a keeper.

IMO, Morris is the one who is most suitable to defend those guys. Lee is too short, C-Bud can't even properly defend scrubs who at times burned him on the defensive end, and Williams is a freaking mystery to everyone.

Still, I am prettty confident Morris' offensive game will translate very well to the NBA. It is his ability to properly defend NBA s/f that is still a question mark for me. Hoping for the best. I just wish we didn't have the lockout, as a prolonged one will hurt these rookies chances to make an impact to their teams, including Morris.

Here is the way I brain it. His first step is quick enough to get him by most 4's and his strength and post skills is more than enough to dominate most 3's in the paint. This should make him extremely dangerous on PnR's when you also remember he has the ability to catch and shoot up to the NBA 3PT range.

I agree. Summer League is usually where we were able to get an idea of who the hidden gems in the draft may be. It would have been cool to see how our three picks looked in the Summer League games. :(
