I would rather get Whiteside. We need a good big man. Either him or Aldrich.

No need for garbage Big men when there is potential starting talent at another position.

damn. I mean we do need a improvement w/Trev and Shane and I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to give Paul a try and go with the potential.

Hmm. I can't figure Whiteside out. As of right now, he is not anywhere close to a Center, and he has not exactly had great workouts. He was destroyed by Hilton Armstrong in one of them. Paul George on the other hand has been shooting up draft boards with his dominant play and potential.

How about we buy the 17 pick and grab both?

I think Paul George can be an ELITE shooter, that is why I am so excited about his potential. His stroke is outstanding to go with that frame and athleticism...

We'll be lucky if George is around.

I have a feeling that this will be the year that Morey finally moves up in the draft. Definitely has the assets to do so.

Forget all this trade crap, we ain't getting Cousins. Our team does not lack scoring !! What we need is size and a legit backup for Yao. If we want to limit Yao to 25 min a game, we need a center who can actually play legit minutes and ready to contribute now. That center is clearly Aldrich. We don't need any projects with Larry Sanders or Whiteside. We are set at nearly every other position. The only way I was for trading Kmart and Ariza was if we could acquire Turner, but that's not happening. Let's just stick to the 14th pick and draft Cole Aldrich, he's exactly what we need. Helps our rebounding, shot-blocking, and also hopefully significantly reduces Yao's playing time.

I would rather play Chuck Hayes at Center...

I second that motion. Drafting Aldrich to be a backup center makes little sense. You don't go into a deep draft like this year's with a lottery pick to draft a back up ANYTHING. You go in and either draft a soon-to-be starter or a prospect that has potential to be something good.

With Yao as our starting center we should have starting minutes for anyone backing him up. Especially if the guy can play some 4. So the guy may not start but the minutes will easily be comparable to starter minutes.

Even if we got George who I think will be a player in the league. There is no way he will beat out Ariza at the sf spot. Neither will Babbitt Hayward or henry. SO those guys will be backing up. And they have to beat out Battier and Budinger for backup minutes. So Aldrich makes a lot of sense IMO.

Yea but the players you named (George, Babbitt, Henry) has a high probability of starting for this team in the near future. Aldrich? If Yao goes down again, or retires, or just simply wants to leave the Rockets, you would be comfortable with Aldrich as your starting center?

In this draft, I don't mind Morey drafting the BPA at #14. You can find a serviceable VETERAN center on the FA market.

You're crazy then. Aldrich is the best defensive C in the draft and can step on the court from Day 1 and be a factor in the rotation. A lot of people will be disappointed because he isn't the sexy pick or have as high of a ceiling as some other prospects -- but he'd still be a damn good center. He's a great defender, rebounder and shot blocker.. I could care less what he lacks on the offensive end -- that's why our PG and SG are strictly offensive minded.

How far would Boston have gone without Kendrick Perkins? Yeah, not a superstar.. but a solid role player that made them one of the toughest defenses. I can't believe people would knock an Aldrich pick.

Maybe in College against Big XII teams but not in the NBA where quickness and athleticism will kill him. He'd be a foul machine because he wouldn't be able to move with 5's in this league.

Budinger will play Big Shooting Guard, Battier is on his last legs, so it shouldn't be too difficult!! :p

We need aback up Center who is a true Center not a Power Forward!! :p

Kinda like Kendrick Perkins is? Come on, guys. Speed is nice.. but it doesn't really matter at the C spot as much as others. Look at Yao. Aldrich won't be a star, but he'll be a player you'd take on your team in a heart beat.

I wouldn't mind him on the team but I'm not passing up on Paul George, Henry, Patterson or even Haywood to draft him just because we need a Big.
