Remember how we always wished we could combine Carl Landry and Chuck Hayes into a single player?

Maybe Morey pulled that off with this pick.

Patterson's the best we could have hoped for by standing pat at 14. I like this pick.

You don't really need a 20 pt scorer in the pf slot, not when your SG, PG and C can already average in the 10-20 range as well. I'd rather have efficient scorers in the 10-20 range than have one or two guys that can go for twenty but are volume shooters.

Hill will either end up playing a very mobile C for us, or he'll be traded for our C in the future. Considering Memphis just drafted an SG I hope we can trade with them for Mayo and one of their C's (Thabeet, Gasol or that other 7'1 dude they have).

Lol did someone believe that Patterson, a 6-9 player has a 7-1 standing reach???

Exactly, Patterson's actually a top 10 pick in terms of value and upside, we have no business drafting him at the 14. He has no red flags regarding health, bust factor or bball IQ, and his intangibles are really really good. Looking back at this draft, we have to thank GSW for taking Ekpe Udoh so high and Utah picking Gordon Hayward instead of a big. Had those two not happened, we would be looking at someone like Udoh, Whiteside ior an SF at the 14th. I hope we trade for Whiteside though.

fwiw, when patterson was picked, he was the highest-rated player on SI's draft board.

Daniel Orton and Hassan Whiteside are still on the broad. We should get another pick to pick either of them.

    This.

Surprised Whiteside has dropped so far. And we should pick up Orton.

I think he's an excellent pick. I just don't know why we picked him, lol! Gotta be something else going on, sooner or later.

The Rockets have insisted all along that they're going to pick the best player available and disregard their roster, because the roster may change significantly by Nov 1st.

I think most people would agree that Patterson was the "best player available".

Because Kahn doesn't know what the hell he's doing, and going what he thinks are the BPA irrespective of the makeup of his roster. What is it with his fascination with forwards, and overloading on positions? He has so many picks in this draft, and he uses them all on forwards.

    Right now Minny has:
3 pgs (all from last summer)
2 SFs (all from this draft)
    3 undersized Pfs

Yet he has no SG and C. Why take Wes Johnson and not Cousins if you're planning on taking Babbitt later on? SMH. KAHN!!!!!! The only way to salvage this draft is if they trade their PFs for a wing. Grizz might be a good place to start discussions, Henry and Mayo are both starting calibre Sgs.

Orton is awful. Why would we want that guy?

Ryan Richards or Alabi please if anything.
