Wow, Victor Claver! Big surprise in the Rockets' war room. Many are wondering if Portland made this pick for another team. Lot of people around the league figured Casspi would be the pick.

No thanks. We don't need another undersized PF.

I think they chose Claver to stash overseas. Claver has a NBA buyout after each season. He can't leave for at least one more season in Spain.

Man, them NBA teams have an obsession with ACLs.

but I serious doubt one pick (i.e. not being picked from 15-17) could be considered as "slipping"...

I mean this draft is extremely even from pick 12-25...anyone such as Tywon Lawson could have gone 14 or could have gone 24

Yeah, I can see how teams would want players with functioning joints.

victor claver was a surprise pick

but they had no use with 4 second round picks anyways...they each take up 500k cap hold and can only reduce salary cap space

It's pretty pointless to blog from our war room about other teams. "Oh! The Rockets guys are moving their heads more than normal. Something might be up. Anyways, did you guys just see who was picked?!?" (not directed at you ROCKCITY)

Enjoying the trash talk from some of the commenters after missing on a couple picks. Though that's not nearly as good as the person who questioned whether or not I'm actually in the Rockets' war room. You're right, dude - I figured I'd play a hilarious practical joke and lie about being here - I'm actually sitting in a Starbucks right now.. in Amarillo. Go figure.
