Sign me up for this one. To begin the year Lowry starts, but by the end... Rubio Wafer Artest Scola Yao And that's WITHOUT adding on the wing we would undoubtedly acquire through T-Mac's contract. Think Vince Carter. This makes sense if you think like me that Rubio will be a perennial all-star in this league for years to come. Finally we will have no problems getting Yao the ball.
• The Grizzlies also are still shopping their pick and one potential trade may persuade them to part with it. A source in Memphis says the Rockets have offered Shane Battier and Aaron Brooks for No. 2. The Grizzlies could send them the dreaded Marko Jaric contract back and save some face in the draft if they did it. Who are the Rockets after? That is the question ... Got it from http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2009/insider/news/story?page=09DraftBuzz-090625
agreed in a big way. i don't see why the grizz would want brooks though. they seem to have tied their boat to conley (same reason they aren't drafting rubio themselves).
they aren't drafting rubio because he won't go there. conley blows and they know it - they wouldn't deal him in the past (and benched lowry) to save face.
If that was the case I rather them take O.J Mayo if he is available. He has more potential than Rubio IMO
Please...I would not even trade Brooks straight up for Rubio. I think the Rockets should just stay pat if all the trades involve downgrading to the "future"...might as well give up and start rebuilding right now if that's the case.
I don't like the Rubio pick but that's just me. If i'd prefer to take a point gaurd it'd be Jennings. He has the 'Baron Davis in the Hornets' kind of mold. Tyreke Evan is a favorite for me too. This is assuming we trade up.
Definite N-O to brandon jennings. this guy has said he watches allen iverson's game against LA every day. that along with his already poor shot selection results in a bonafide cancer.
i dunno why i cant make threads but here it is Updated: June 25, 2009, 3:57 PM ET Sources: Nets, Magic in serious talks Comment Email Print Share By Chad Ford ESPN.com Archive The New Jersey Nets are in serious talks with the Magic about a deal that will send Vince Carter to Orlando for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie and Courtney Lee, two league sources told ESPN.com. The talks have reached a point that a deal could be done by the end of the day Thursday, according to sources. The trade would give the Magic even more star power on their quest to win an NBA championship. The addition of Carter to a lineup that already consists of All-Star players Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis and Jameer Nelson would make them the favorites to win the Eastern Conference title next year. As for the Nets, the move is a cost-cutting measure. Both Alston and Battie are in the last year of their contracts, and trading for them would shave $16.5 million off New Jersey's roster in the summer of 2010 and put the Nets well below the salary cap. The deal, if completed, would also give the Nets a young, promising shooting guard in Lee. Chad Ford covers the NBA and NBA draft for ESPN Insider.
Man, I hope Vince doesnt get moved. He is one of my Mcgrady trade targets when this Amare thing dont work out. Boo!
That encourages me. The Rockets have clearly had at least some interest in Carter in the past, and you'd have to think they could easily top that offer, if they wanted to. Fact that they haven't leads me to believe there's something else going down.
If we lose Shane, I am done. I have no idea on earth why Morey would even think this. Shane is a total Morey guy, how could he even think this?
There could be a lot of reasons - mainly, Shane is aging and that injury last season kept him from playing effectively for a good portion of the year. It may be time to move on from Shane although I really do like the guy as a player.
wtf? C: Dwight Howard PF: Rashard Lewis SF: Hedo Turkoglu SG: Vince Carter PG: Jameer Nelson That's a guaranteed championship
