Well, that's it for me. This pick confuses me to no end. They needed help now so they take a project player? Guess I'll have to go back to snickering at the Mavericks.
Word, he should of stayed at Cuse with Johnnie Flynn. Flynn is going to be a very good point guard in the NBA whenever he declares.
Batum was supposed to a top 10 pick back in January... Sure if you haven't been following players except what ESPN tells you or watching march madness, you may not know who he is. Otherwise, this make sense and is a good pick. Also personally, I think CDR is overrated. I think Rose and Dorsey made that team great, and CDR was able to play off of them.
I understand this pick the rockets were going for strategy this time. The only explenation is that they wanted to keep Batum off the spurs roster and not alongside tony parker.
From DraftExpress.com http://www.draftexpress.com/article/Blogging--live--through-the-NBA-Draft--2952/ -The Rockets totally busted up the Spurs’ plan to hide Nicolas Batum’s physical and get him to fall there. Batum might not be happy to get picked here, but will report to Houston like a good soldier. “We missed by one pick” his camp told us immediately after the Rockets took him. You could see Batum fidgeting in his chair in the five minute span between picks.
Ford is a DB! If its true sure would be nice to get a veteran that could fit into our rotation and contribute.
I meant to ask this before: At what point (is there a particular number) do they stop conducting interviews? I would like to hear from Nicolas. BattiersBaby.
