Newley is supposedly the poor man's Almond. don't know if he will be able to contribute this year though.

Houston just picked up Brad Newley.

Im from Australia so i know a fair bit about him. Hes ok not great. He isnt going to do much but im just glad that he got chosen so now there might be some more Rockets games on Australian TV! :D

At least pick #54 was a good one, given what was available.

good analysis. So every player needs to be drafted based on that aspect just because ONE player was drafted for that? Ok. Let's get all TJ Fords and maybe that'll make our GM happy, right?

studogg, well said on the last page.

Lior, the Israeli guy. He'll step in and dominate everyone while still wearing his kippah

ugh, i can't believe i sat through this.

At this point the best pick was Newley, we got the second rounder for only cash, and he is probably the best player we took. At this point Morey is looking like he is in over his head.

Newley doesn't have good footspeed. Herbert Hill could have been a good pick at 54.

I actually think the step up in class could be a good thing for Brad, the guy was making a big splash 2-3 years ago but struggled to really star this year. The guy will attack the rim hard and can create his own shot.

Ive played against Brad Newley when he played for the Australian Institute of Sport - He does a bit of everything, reasonable shooter, can take it to the hole and finish.....He has NBA type of athletecism, i wouldnt call it above average but i wouldn't say he's slow either!

    Another guard?! huh? what gives??

Management clearly didn't draft for need. But they weren't drafting the best players still available either!

    Something about this draft sucks.

Guys Aaron Brooks is good. Newley should be able to step in as well. Now we can trade Alston and Head to a team and get a PF.

I don't understand why people are surprised that we didn't pick a PF. Morey said all along that he wasn't going to draft according to need (meaning NOT a 4) and just going to take the best midget...I mean talent available.

At least we got someone who will make JL3 feel better about himself at practice. Assuming Brooks actually makes the roster.
