WOOOO HOOOOO !!!! Biggio finally breaks out of his slump and raises his FP/G from 2.1 to 2.8 while scoring 14 fantasy points for me tonight... Sorry for the large font, but I can't contain my excitement....
Damn, I thought for sure that Nomo was going to be claimed by one of the 8 teams ahead of me on the waiver wire priority list so I didn't even bother to put in a claim for him. And look what happened....Vatican City Cardinals (the only team below me) ended up getting him. Damn, Damn, Damn!!!
He, he... It amazes me how quickly some people are giving up on players with solid track records after a bad month or a couple of bad starts. I mean, the guy lead the AL in K's last year! BTW, in case any of you wondered, I'm pretty sure Randy Johnson has sold his soul to the devil. I'm beginning to think that he's going to have a career year at 38 freaking years old! He's averaging 8 more points per game than the the nearest runner-up (Schilling), and 16.5 more than the 3rd guy!

Schilling, I think, will slowly come back to earth based on his past track record, but Johnson just seems to be in some kind of crazy zone.
Schilling's always been a great pitcher, he's just rarely been on the good team. There's really no reason to believe his performance will drop off.
Schilling's always been a great pitcher, he's just rarely been on the good team. There's really no reason to believe his performance will drop off. He's always been very very good, but not *this* good. He normally has an ERA of 3-4 every year... Last year, he was at 2.9, which was his best year in a decade. I think he'll settle into that 3-3.5 ERA by the end of the year. He's always been in that Top-10 type class, but not in the Top-3, absolute domination level. Now, he's passing up people like Maddux and Glavine, etc.
I still think that a lot of that has to do with the team you're on. Unlike what some people believe, pure stats don't say it all. When you're on a team that consistently sucks ass behind you, I believe you're more likely to maybe give up an extra run, or not pitch as well.
Even though neither will admit it, I believe there is a competition between Randy and Curt. Each time they go out there they try to top the other's previous outing. So far both have had 17 strikeout performances. I expect both to have better years than last year, but hopefully they won't since I have neither or them.
Did everyone fall asleep at the wheel? How in the hell was I able to get Bernie Williams when I am currently #9 on the waiver wire priority list? Thanks, everyone. Rocketman95: This is just a suggestion, but you may move up in the standings if you dropped Levine (fill-in closer/set-up man) and Hasegawa (set-up man) and picked up 2 of the obvious full-time closers on the waiver wire. I'll just throw a couple of names out there: Mike DeJean (4 saves for Milwaukee), Jose Jimenez (4 saves for Colorado), Esteban Yan (3 saves for Tampa Bay). Those may not be attractive names, but they are getting the save opportunities and your guys aren't. Just an observation on my part. If you want to tell me to mind my own business, I totally understand...
Damn, I guess we're the only ones really using our heads.... I'll pass at the moment. My pitching is really looking good right now. How can I get Randy from you?
You'll probably be surprised to know that most people have other stuff on their minds than a free fantasy baseball league. Of course, coming in here, bragging and basically calling the rest of us stupid doesn't really make me want to play that badly. Of course, I'm still pissed off at you for offering Shaun Alexander for Byron Chamberlain, me accepting, and you not offering it after Alexander had a big day that Sunday.
It's all in good fun. Don't be so damn serious! I guess you have never heard of good-natured trash talk. Why play, if you can't have fun while doing so. And didn't you notice the SMILEY FACE? Oh, come on. Can you blame me for not proposing it after the game he had. It isn't official until a proposal has been made. Just because I threw it out there and you accepted doesn't make it official.
I'm not that serious, it just gets old. And try telling me you wouldn't be pissed off if I, or anyone else, did the same to you. It was ****ty.
I might be a little irritated, but I truly believe that unless a proposal is made then it's not an official offer. I can count numerous times in the past where another person and I agreed in principle on a trade. I proposed that exact trade and the other guy declined it saying he had changed his mind. Is there a rule saying you cannot change your mind. It's all part of the game.
If I can remember correctly, we pulled off a trade in that same football league when you got Moss from me. You are making me out to be a GM in bad faith. If that is how you feel and you want to judge me by this occurrence, then so be it. And how do I know you wouldn't have done the same thing if you had been in my position? I think it is childish that you are holding a grudge for something so insignificant.
It's not insignificant, relatively. That trade would've made a huge difference in the standings. And I wouldn't have done the same thing. If I tell someone I'm going to do something, I do it.
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree about the whole Shaun Alexander fiasco. If it is going to prevent you from trading with me in the future, then there is not much I can do about it. But if I was to propose a trade to you thru Sandbox and you chose to decline just for the purpose of not trading with me, then you are doing yourself a dis-service. I am not one to hold grudges. If you are pissed at me, then use that as motivation to beat me in this league. But I am frankly tired of this back and forth non-sense. Hopefully, in the future you will be able to decipher when I am just joking around and when I am in fact serious as far as my comments go in this thread. Anyway, good luck with your season.
