Guys, thanks so much for the support. These are all valid questions and I'm sure Clutch will address them. I don't know all the costs because this is Clutch's baby, not mine. However, I do know that hosting for a site like this probably runs at least a couple hundred dollars per month depending on how much bandwidth he is using. Remember that he has to pay for hosting for the front page AND the BBS. They each have different needs, etc. Bottom line: it ain't cheap. I think you guys going out of your way to support the site is really terrific. On the PayPal reciept, usually they provide one via email to you. I'd be surprised if they didn't but you'll have to take that up with Clutch. Thanks again!
MM, you are linear thinking now...the art of donating is not to judge what is too much or too little, but what one feels is appropriate for the moment....I know you want detail, but any amount is helpful.... based on what I know about hosting, he probably is paying in the neighborhood of $150-200/month minimum and that may be for one site, remember the BBS is a separate hosting fee. Clutch/Jeff/anyone with Clutchcity.net....help a few of us linear thinking brothers out......what is the monthly fee to host?
not trying to do linear thinking or "judge" what is too much or too little....just thinking it would be nice to say, "here, Clutch...I'll pay for a month." I don't know if I can do that or not, but at least it can give me some frame of reference.
I have a T-1 at work that I rarely use, I wonder if I could host the site for free...... I will see what clutch's needs are, in the meantime, i have sent in my check. DaDakota
