According to the Chronicle,

Mobley is out with an ankle injury.

What's up with that? And they have Rice starting, presumably so he doesn't have to match-up with Jordan off the bench.

Could it be that Mobley and Cato are involved in a trade and the Rockets do not want to play them to avoid risking injury? Cato has not played in the last two games, despite being present and healthy. Cuttino didn't look injured last night to me. I think something could be going on behind the scenes.

Crap!! I hope Mobley is not injured, but if he is, hopefully it will just be for a game or two. This game agains the Wizards is crucial IMO. If the Rockets can stay 3-4 games above.500 all year, there is no doubt that we will make the playoffs. Also, since most of our games coming up are on the raod, it is important for the Rockets to win the games at home.

Rice should be the Rocket's starting 3 from now on. I can see him coming along really good, and he's stroking the three pretty well. I was very impressed with his paly against the Mavs last night. He killed their zone defense with his 5 threee pointers.

Anyway...I just want the Rockets to win .
Carry on...

I'm more concerned with how the rebound from the 1st game of this back to back. I Especially want to see how Ming deals with hit. At certain stretches of the game last night Ming looked liked he wanted to just pass out. He couldn't even stand up straight

Yeah. Because he was running. I haven't seen a center run the break like that since olajuwon. He was expending a lot of useful energy.

Why did it list Nachbar as a DNP - Personal Reason and Cato as DNP - CD? I can understand that Cato, if he was close to his gma, would have some depression, but I was confused as to the listing for these 2.

HP,
I didn't see that report in the Rockets summary.

On the Rockets websight they have cat listed as No Injuries as of 10 am this morning.

I hope the Rockets dont have an emotional let down after last night. Yao was awesome, and as a former nay sayer of Ming and watching him the past few weeks I can honestly say I am very excited about our future with him as our focal point in the paint. Rockets should take this one, but when your up againist MJ anything is possible............Rockets 93 The Wiz 91

Hakeem, as a young guy, played the entire court. Maybe the 1990s Hakeem preserved energy here and there but the young fella regularly ran down guards from behind *and blocked their layups*

I've never seen a center with the basket to basket defensive game Hakeem had. I expect I never will again.

NBA.com/Rockets page says that Mobley sprained his ankle last night. I did not see anything.

I read somewhere that the personal reasons for Boki were that he was taking care of getting a long-term visa.

Cato has been available for 2 games now. Rudy said something about him being rusty and out of shape, because he hadn't played for a week. I don't know, but I think that's probably a BS excuse. As far as depression keeping him from playing... if he's on the bench, high-fiving guys and smiling, I don't see how it would hurt for him to be on the floor, playing.

If we played like we played last night the Rockets will most likely lose. Every one had an off game except Yao (great game) and Rice (real good behind the arc). These two players cannot carry our team. Franchise had a not so good game also, by his standards; down in points, rebounds, and assist. I hope and beleive that Francis and Mobley have great games and lead this team into victory tonight.

Yet win or lose I'll still support them.

by starting Rice, it looks to me like they might be considering timing Kenny's minutes to match Jordan's. I sure don't want Rice on him, and Hawkins is going to have to take Stackhouse.

not a good game for Mobley to be out.

You're absolutely right. My post was in no disrespect of Hakeem. But you also have to remember his heart problem, too. Maybe it's smarter to know when to conserve your energy. But I think the best bet is to be in as best shape as you possibly can.

On Rockets.com, they have the starters as THOMAS, GRIFFIN, YAO, FRANCIS and HAWKINS.
