The Phoenix sun will be shot down by the Rockets.

Defense comes first, we need to shut down Shawn Marion and try to disrupt Marbury. EG should do a better job on Amare Stoudamire, so Yao don't have to help out so much while leaving his man unattended.

    Go Rox.

    110-85 Rox win

    SF: 25pt, 10 asst, 2 stl
    Yao: 23 pt, 18 rebs, 7 asst, 1 stl, 7 blocks
    EG: 18 pt, 11 rebs, 2 stls, 5 blocks
    JP: 20 pt, 5 asst, 7 reb, 5 stls
    Cat: 20 pt, 4 asst, 6 reb, 2 stls

Hmm. That means the bench contributes...(punches calculator)...

4 points. 1 for Mo, 2 for Rice, 1 for Cato.

    Sounds about right.

If Posey and Rice contribute well offensively and Yao gets his 3 blocks, Rox should win, but its gonna be close

Francis will be outplayed by Marbury again.....

Are you serious? The NBA has got some upper limit on playing time? Any sport that has rules that just throws in the towel and allows ties upsets me greatly. I suppose the playoffs wouldn't have that limitation, kinda like football, but still...

The least they could do is then have a sudden death period to three points!

Oh, back on topic. I think if the Rockets make a very good showing (and lose only because Marbury played like he did against SA) and thus prove they might be able to win some on the road trip, then losing to Phoenix would not be as big a disaster as portrayed here. Any kind of win would be huge though.

I can't wait to see the bad blood at the point guard matchup tomorrow! I'll be disappointed if I don't see a double-tech from those guys. ;)

I've got a feeling that Rockets try really hard and win this game against Phoenix. They got a huge sense of relief and lose the next four/five games on the road. It's like that second Lakers game.

Who else is going to the game?

I'll be up in the upper deck, I can't remember where exactly, but I'm going with my roommate.

It's my first game of the year, and we'll definitely be boozed up (it's the only way I can handle the lame introductions) and ready to tear down the house!

50th reply, so ha! Seriously, what's with the race to get the first reply in the game thread?

To stay somewhat on topic, I hope the Rockets pull this one out.

Watch Amare tear Eddie a new one.

Seriously, this could be a serious matchup for years to come in the WC playoffs.

Francis will be outplayed by Marbury again, huh? So by "again," I take it you're implying that matchups between them have been one-sided in PHX's/Marbury's favor? Hmmm...interesting --

    --First game: Rockets 87 - Suns 88

Francis: 16 pts (5-16 FG), six boards, five assist/three turnovers, four steals

Marbury: 20 pts (6-16 FG), zero boards, 11 assist/five turnovers, two steals

    --Second game: Rockets 102 - Suns 96

Marbury: 32 pts (12-29 FG  ), five boards, six assist/two turnovers, one steal

Francis: 19 pts (6-13 FG), five boards, eight assist/two turnovers, three steals

**This was the "I'm the real All-Star; I didn't have to get voted in" game, remember?**

    --Third game: Rockets 107 - Suns 89

Francis: five pts (2-7 FG), six boards, two assist/three turnovers, zero steals -- left early wit' back issues

Marbury: 22 pts (7-16 FG), three boards, six assist/five turnovers, three steals

Well, if Francis continues to get "outplayed" by Mr. Marbury, but the Rox still hold the regular season head-to-head matchup against the Suns after tonight's game (would be 3-1)....that's cool. @ least you predicted a Rockets victory, though! :)

In the last 7 games since Marbury plays for Phoenix, Francis is owned by Marbury.
Francis averages something like 14ppg with under 40% shooting against Marbury while Marbury is playing like usual.

Meaningless. I don't care is Marbury kicks Steve's a$$ up and down the court. All that matters is the W.

BTW, for those who remember, Francis was a GAME-TIME decision in the last Phoenix game, and eventually LEFT with a tightened lower back, which was the reason he wan't giong to play.

Please, put the MINUTES on those stats, because Marbury easily averages at least 44+ minutes against us.

Most fans here said how good and hot Marbury and Mario are, etc.; but could someone tell the true story about how improved and hot Steve has been.

And of course, Yao will bomd Phoenix. There is no context.

    Houston will win, BIG.

Two keys to winning this game....MoT plays well and MoT lays more minutes then EG

I think everyone else will play well, not outstanding but good enough to win, but Taylor must have an unstoppable game and EG must not contradict that by sucking as usual:cool:
