The Suns also will be trying to get the Rockets big men into foul trouble by attacking the basket, and they have the personnel to do just that. However, the Rockets have a deeper bench than the Suns.

I surmise the game will be decided by our bench players, and I can't shake the feeling that Collier will provide some critical points at PF if Eddie gets into foul trouble.

DOES IT REALLY MATTER IF YAO WINS ROY??? I dont think so,sure it would be great but Amare can have all the personal awards because Yao will deliver championships which is way better than the ROY award.

Gee, I'm surprised youAndme isn't in here babbling about how the Rockets will lose tonight because of Stoudamire, the Rookie of the Year. Like ROY means jack when it comes to making the playoffs.

Suns don't have a good chance tonight. They play back to back road games.

Their last games were against the Lakers,Lakers, Blazers,Jazz, Grizzlies, Jazz and Spurs now it is the Rockets and Mavs. And 6 games of those were back to backs.

We are missing our starting center and shooting guard, as well as our former starting PF who would be 6th man right now.

Though we are still very capable of beating the Rockets.

How can Yao NOT win Rookie of the year? He's an All Star and his team is most improved in the league, and will compete as a 6th or 7th seed in the playoffs. Aside from that, he's played better, and has surpassed more expectations than anyone but Amare. I'd say the All Star thing gived Yao the edge over Amare.

ROY can be decided in this game if it is a lopsided contest. It is just like when we got Yao 30 Bradley 0, then no one ever makes the Bradley comparison anymore.

Let's hope Yao take advantage of Suns' tired legs.

Why do we continually have this conversation?

If teams are covering Ming with 2 guys, one guy in front, and one guy behind, then our Guards and F's will take over easily. If they send single coverage, he will get the ball and he will score.

"It got me to thinking, we are stockpiling so much young talent that we have a lot of trading material even with the three Mar's off the table. Could we get Duncan? A package featuring JJ, Casey, Big Jake, and draft picks may be pretty chintzy compensation for a player of Duncan's caliber, but if San Antonio is faced with the prospect of losing him for nothing, I think it would start to look pretty attractive. "

LOL, we do this too don't we?

It seems to me even he is singly covered, SF and Cat will not pass the ball to him. We are indeed wasting the big man resource. Hopefully Rudy will do sth to correct it soon.

Amare pushes our soft big men around.

    Suns win by 7.

Yao and EG need to toughen up, they are softer then a babies A$$.

One great fact for the Rockets tonight:
The Suns are 1-6 in back-to-back games. That one win was a home victory Vs. the Kings.

Also this is the best site if you want to look at other boards:

    King's site

The other team's bbs' are on the right side of this site. The sonics site doesn't have quite as many bbs' and some sites they have listed just don't work...they don't up keep their site as well as Clutch does ours. :)

PS: sorry, I just wanted to say 'site' a couple more times. site, site, site, site, site. okay, satisfied.

actually, i am very impressed by suns' comments how to defend YM.
" Option 1 is to front Yao and deny him the ball. (See the tape of Ed Najera's D against Yao in the 4th qtr and the Celtic's Defense against Yao last night which limited him to only 7 shots)

Option 2 is to push Yao out of his favorite spot and make him receive the ball as far away from the basket as possible. (NY's Kurt Thomas and Doleac were effective in using this strategy) "

from YM's Jan 11th's interview(http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/bighour021221.html), it seems they are practising some new strategies to give YM the ball. Hope it works.

BTW, thanks to Dr Q for your very useful information(it took me two hours to look for those websites).

Why are people saying Phoenix won't be able to double/triple Yao like Boston? Sure they can. The coach just calls for it.

With Posey and Griffin starting, I'd make those two shoot from 20' and beyond to prevent Yao getting the ball...for sure. Wouldn't you?? And their backups are Hawkins and TMo???

Rudy has already said that he will not bring up Nachbar against All-Star small forwards like Marion, not yet. Nachbar won't see much time, if any, tonight, but we may very well see him Friday.

Without a proven shooter, defenses are not going to respect us. We are going to be facing a heavy diet of ball denial to Yao, imo. I want to see us pull him back out to the double high post PnR, again. We need to flatten any zones or gimmick man D with off-ball double teaming, and we have done that by pulling the defense out to the free throw line extended.

It is not Yao and EG's fault to be soft! Each time they got some fauls, Rudy will send them to bench. Somebody has to tell Rudy nobody will be out of the game because of 3 or 4 PFs.

The key to this game is SF. If he has stats like 14pts 8rbs 9 ast, the Rox will win. And he needs to stop Stephone. But I doubt he could that without help.
