Bateer is definitely with SA now. but I'm not sure if he's ever going to play.
also, did shaq really say that? Bateer is indeed strong. but he is slow and can't jump well. I don't think he'll pose any problem to shaq at all.

    David Robinson/Kevin Willis/Bateer

Wow, that's an INCREDIBLY powerful C rotation. Think they had Shaq in ming when putting this trio together?

I sure hope for Ming that that will never happen.

This is a huge game for the Rockets. If they want to be anything, they have to start by beating good teams at home.

Hopefully I'll see my first Rockets game in 4 years. Winning would really cap off a great day!

I wanna see Ming dunk on the Little Mermaid's head, and give him nightmares, just like Dream did in 95! HAHAHAHA!

I think the Rockets wil win these, I just have a good feeling about it. 97-92 Rockets, Rockets lead the whole game but Spurs make a run near the end and pull with in 5.

Francis has big night leading all scorers, and Mobley come back in and scores 20.

Is Mobley going to play or not? I have seen conflicting reports - can anyone verify?

After watching Sunday's humiliation against the Kings, here are my thoughts. First of all, I'm not a Yao only fan, but I honestly believ his limited role is hurting us. That's Rudy's fault, but Yao's fault also. Rudy needs to implement more plays involving Yao, but Yao also needs to be more selfish. I never thought I'd say that about an NBA player, but he passes up easy points too often. As far as plays involving Yao goes, I'm not saying Yao is Hakeem. But remember how we used to work the inside outside game where Hakeem would post up and draw double, triple coverage and he would pass it out to Elie, Kenny Smith, or Maxwell? I think we should do that now. Yao should post up and use his height and take an easy shot if it's there. He will draw more players, so he needs to make sure he has a good grip on the ball. Then when Stevie or Rice or whoever is open, kick it out to them. Rudy needs to mix these types of plays with plays where Stevie penetrates and creates shots for himself or others. I think by mixing these two types of play, it involves everybody in the game, and it will keep the opponent's defense off gaurd.

There is no logical reason for believing that the Rocket's will win. Will all the long-standing problems this team has exhibited be resolved in one night? Unlikely. Yeah! Yeah! Rah! Rah! I hope they play well, move the ball, find the open man, hit the high percetage shot, don't overdribble, find Ming, don't jack up stupid shots, don't drive into trible teams and take "wildass" shots, don't hog the ball, etc. etc. BUT they won't and they will lose. This team is no where near ready to beat the elite teams. Give me a reason for optimism.

    Spurs fan here.

    Rockets 89
    Spurs 83

Spurs don't have a set rotation, S. Claxton being out REALLY hurts by the 4th - Parker runs out of gas. S. Kerr CANNOT guard Francis - and he is the backup P.G.; having Mobley out certainly helps the Spurs w/this particular matchup. Rocks win, but y'all won't like them doing it by Francis going for 35+.

Duncan has not yet returned from the Bahamas; only chance is for the Spurs is for somebody else to come up big. Possibilities include S. Jackson, the aforementioned Parker, K. Willis, or S. Smith; This is a matchup of teams whose fans currently see each as underachieving; home court takes it.

Your reason for optimism for tonite's game? The Spurs are playing like crap - and are incapable of holding ANY type of lead; gave up an 18 point and 15 point THIRD QUARTER lead in CONSECUTIVE games last week. Rockets will never be out of it; Francis can literally singlehandedly win it down the stretch; really. Marbury went for 26 points in the final 9 minutes against Spurs on Saturday. There's optimism for ya.

10167, Thanks, nice try, the Spurs are playing worse than we are, well that doesn't exactly lift my spirits, but thanks for trying. These NBA players and coaches are making obsene amounts of money. How many businesses are successful at selling a product that "sucks" for millions of dollars?

Robinson is actually not as strong as he looks like. Tim Duncan is much stronger. Hakeem was also stronger than Robinson. Robinson doesn't have a thick middle and lower body.

This is a game I have been waiting along time for! The first game I've seen live in almost 2 years! I will post a thread with my recap after the game when I can access the net. :)

He's stronger than Duncan, I'm absolutely positive of that. I've heard LOTS of people, especially during games, say that Robinson is the strongest C after Shaq last season and this season. Meaning, the Centerless years.

It's not about appearances. He just has a lot of strength. Like KT. He's a lot stronger than he looks. Francis, although we don't know it, is one fo the strongest PG's in the league.

Robinson is very strong in his upper body but it's been clear through the years that his weakness is definately his lower body strength. The guy would always get pushed around even with all that upper body muscle.

Now after saying that I'd also like to remind myself and others how he got abused by Hakeem in his MVP year. :) Good ol' days!

cool Miggidy. Show up early and watch the shootaround for us. Tell us if Griffin is still standing behind 3pt land and launching 3s in preparation for the game.

    *sigh*

Also, watch Maurice practice jumpers and tell me if you see him favoring his right foot when shooting Js. I've noticed this in games, and don't recall him shooting like that before. I've even seen him lean to the left on shots, and everytime he seems to stick his right foot out.

Willis is not weak either. And he can throw elbows at Yao. Doesn't look good to me.

I think Bateer is on SA's IL. But still Robinson/Willis/Duncan would give Yao a very tough time, that's for sure. We need SF to step up big if we want to have any chance.

That made me laugh. AND1 mixtapes?? Lets hope Francis has more sense than those fools on the tapes. Will the fans at tonights game be right on the court (thus shirking it to 3/4's the size) ohh-ing and aww-ing at all the travels and carrys that are taking place? Will they bum-rush the court and carry Francis off on their shoulders if the Rockets when the game?

    Ridiculous tapes.

There aren't too many...but they include the company that sold the O.S. that is currently running on this P.C. here. Also, I rented a Cavalier a few months back; put G.M AND Hertz on the list. Oh, and M. Lewinski signed a book deal; if it was for more than 1. mil....
