I liked how TMo looked even at garbage time. Hopefully TMo and MT will see a little more time soon.

I agree ricerocket. TRock has been hitting shots pretty well lately, and he's got some great rebounding and defense. He kindof reminds me of a Stacy Augmon type player, only a better outside shooter.

has anyone noticed that when we have a fast break
yao always turned up his jet and run down the clock
our forwards are lagging behind.....

yao , cat, and SF are always ahead of the pack

nice little things yao does that are not on the stats

not to mentioned the 7.5 intimidations / game

Yes, and I couldn't believe that Cat didn't reward Yao with the Ball on one break; Cat missed (could've been moochie...I'm beginning to get the two of them confused ;) ). Maybe he just figured he would let Yao rebound. :)

T-Mo worked really hard on his shot during the off season and now I think he has the prettiest release on the squad. It looks like he repeats the exact same motion every time which is nice. Just like golf, a repeatable motion is the hardest thing to master.

Damn, I am in Illinois, too far way from Huston. I wish I could see the live game.

Cuttino is a great fit, IMO, with Yao Ming and Steve Francis. And what about the Defense tonight. Everyone played good D. VERY VERY VERY nice game.

I agree. So what was this stuff after the Dallas game about Cuttino being a vestigial organ?? hehe

Theoretically, slashing penetrators are exellent motion players when they catch and slash. When they have a threatening jumper to that, they can destroy zones with a catch, headfake, and penetrate. Dribble penetration, as well as moving, picking, passing, is a key to motion and beating zones, and that's what makes Mobley a great fit.

This team will be dynamite if they keep up this teamwork and offball picking moving we've been seeing the last two games.

great game. great improvement. something to really build a foundation around...not a fluke based on making 3s and spreading the defense. They made the defense move, and they produce a lot of backdoor slams and some cut to the basket from the high post by Yao, Kenny and Cato for slams.

I'd go so far to say this is the most halfcourt slams we've seen in 3 years.

that has been my experience. Almost every reporter on the net was writing BS about jordon and Bowie, arguing that Yao was too soft to make it in the NBA (espn, cnbc, tsn...).
Amatorial sites were the same (hoopsworld, *********** too, if I remeber correctly), in fact I had an e-mail discussion with one of the guys.
And I think at least 90% of the fans were SURE he would have been a bust, while 9% thought he might have become "solid".
Look in the old message boards or in google groups!
Of course not the rockets fans....

11 assists in two games??

It's baffling how some of you guys see the game so entirely different. KT had 6 assists last night. 5 for 10 shooting. How is that a black hole.

PFs are supposed to run low block plays...so, how is that a black-hole anymore than Maurice's plays? Kenny just needed the team to implement more team wide motion. Tape the games. Watch how well Kenny picks and moves when the whole team runs that type of offense. btw: Yao has had zero assists in the last two games. You pass when you can,,,Yao isn't getting the passing opportunities right now, and K9 is.

This team is passing the ball.

What's up with the arm band? Is it a rockets fashion trend, like hornets' head bands? And I'd like to order a Yao-11 arm band.

If my ballots hold much weight, the game will be Cuttino, Steve, Yao Ming, Rashard Lewis (Houston connection) and Kenny Thomas versus a bunch of random east players . . .

:D

I didn't get to see the game, but I think the 27 assists (or close to that) against Phili is tops for the Rocks this season. I've read this entire thread hoping for some eyewitness accounts of the ball movement. Did the offense look appreciably different? Were they just making an extra pass? Have you seen this for the last several games?

The only games I've seen this year (3 on west coast TV) had way too much he-who-brings-it-up-shoots-it. But I loved seeing the big 27.

B-Bob, the team is noticeably different. The players are moving and picking all over the court. We use some PF and C post ISOs, like we should, but when we aren't doing that, we are seeing movement all over.

I saw this first in the Dallas game, but not since, until the Hornets. Rudy seems to have had two excellent practices coming back from San Antonio, and it shows. imo, this shows that he has been truly working a 5-man game since camp...but needed more tape of live games to better show the players what was going wrong, or what other teams were doing. that's a guess, though.

The motion is producing passes to cutters (KT, Yao, Cato and Mobley) for slams/layups. I don't think we've seen than many slams or layups in a long time.

I noticed the utilized the pick and roll more. Stevie and moochie actually gave up the ball after coming around the pick which lead to some easy shots for Yao and KT. Before, stevie would use the pick and go straight to the hoop.
