Rockets should've won that game. Jordan got so many calls going for him. I guess that's what you get when your the best basketball player there has ever been.

now we only one game behind sun. it is too early to talk about we can not make the playoff, am i right?
although if they play like this, they don't deserve the playoff.

Rudy relies too much on his players' own talent. He always has talented players in his team, and he got lucky a few times because of that. I don't think he is a team-play believer, nor is he capable of coaching that.

I think Rudy's strategy is to let the team learn from their own mistakes. This way as they grow as a team, they will learn what to do in future situations. This is a great idea when the team is either doing very poor or very well. This is not a good idea when the team needs discipline to make it to the playoffs.

Steve Francis has all the athletic talent in the world but a peanut for a brain.

i just saw the last play again and this is what i saw

yao rebounds with about 5 secs left passes to steve at half court and runs down the court with hawk to his left and 2 defenders one in front of him the other closer to hawk..

i think what happened is steve wanted to pass first when he went up for the shot to maybe draw the defense and thought that hawk was mobsley... but when in the air steve sees its the hawk and then looks for mobley with the uh shall we say traveling pass and mobs puts up a prayer that didnt go..

but i do know it was a 2 on 2 with hawk to steves left

and by the way i was almost right about the game.. i called the OT and mobley would hit a big shot.... i was wrong about steves trip dub and yaos 30something pts but i also thought that MJ was not going to play... dam that MJ i think if he wasnt retiring this year the game may have been called differently but we cant use that as an excuse.

We're still gonna make the playoffs, I've gauranteed it, remember? :D

    Couple interesting notes though:

-According to ESPN, we're now 1-7 in games decided by 2 or fewer points.... does this sound eerily similar to a pattern from last year?

-We're 3-3 on our last 6 road games, our wins coming against solid teams, our losses all coming against teams who (at least at the time) weren't even in the playoffs. Average margin of victory: 18. Average margin of defeat: 5.33. I guess all that's both good and bad...

-I believe we are now 12-15 against sub-.500 teams.

And does anyone else think MoT plays with at least as much if not more heart than anybody on this team on the offensive end lately?

BTW, don't worry, I'm not gonna watch ANY more Rockets games this year, unless I'm accompanied by a friend with good luck or something...

i think that was a good no TO call. the rockets had a fast break. if francis passed the ball to hawkins, it was an easy layup to put it into double overtime. i don't know why steve try for the win when he was shooting 1-13 for the night.

This is a painful growing process, even if the team does grow. Mind you, this is probably Rudy's character rather than his coaching philosophy in moving gradually. Remember, had Cato not gone for a few days on personal business, Yao might still be sitting at bench, playing ten minutes each game.

Hey, look at Bookie; he is still sitting at the bench.

Rudy is definitely a patient person; but that works only the team responds. Right now, the team is responding so slowly. You can say in recent games, the balls were passed to Yao more; but Yao simply assumes Franchise's selfish play most of the time. The only difference is Yao is forced into selfish play without his teamates moving while Steve is his natural tendency of street ball.

OK, I've heard this same tired, lameass excuse about a million times. I've seen enough Rockets games (and all of them losses, mind you) to get an idea of how Steve plays, and he does NOT play street. I don't understand why people keep saying something that is completely not true. He just sometimes tries a little too hard and makes some mistakes, that doesn't make him street. I think people are just desperate to find a target for their fingers.

Two scenarios should've happened when Yao got that rebound in OT:

    1. Every Rox player and coach should've been screaming TO! TO! and actually calling it.

    or

    2. SF should've been streaking down court and, seeing a 2 on 2 situation, should've drove to the hole and either make the basket or draw contact to get some FTs. A 3 wasn't needed! That would've been BIG considering SF was having an off-night. I heard that he spent $10,000 in tix for friends and family. A play like this one would've atoned for the 1 for 13 night.

    Neither happened. Another L. :(

Well, what I mean is, If Rox finally can't go to the playoffs, shall we trade for any 1st round pick so that we can re-organize the team? For example, we may consider about getting a pick to get a good PG for our team, probably coupled with another trade.

As much as a Yao fan I am (though I mostly lurk here), I have to admit he should be rebounding more.
It seems like he gets pushed out or he just doesn't have that "zip" he displayed earlier in the season. Still,at 7'5", he should be snaring a minimum of 10 consistently.
He's an intelligent player and I can't wait to see him surrounded by a cast that's more aware offensively and defensively (team basketball awareness, that is). Moochie and Posey should go with Yao when he's on the court and EITHER Franchise or Cat, not both. At the 4, who cares ;), nobody good there anyways. When both Cat and Franchise are on, just have Cato in there. He doesn't need the ball at all and he plays 'D' plus he's fresher than Yao.
How 'bout that Mike? Boy, he's still got it (incl. the ref calls, just like what Kobe's star treatment now).

I Agreed. Steve should go to the hole, if there's no chance, he should be the one call TO. Lack of leadership.
