Anyone notice the defensive intensity in the 4th compared to the earlier quarters? Why can't they play that that for the ENTIRE game?

 Against a good team? I hope you're using the term 'good' VERY loosely...the Wiz are just barely a playoff team in the Leastern conference.

That is why I do not like him. He makes a lot of bone-head decisions. but of course alot of people will react again. they will say two championships.

they should have talked about it during the timeout before the last play. they should have anticipated that there will be time left on the board even if the wizards make the shot. miss or not, they should have talked about calling a timeout. since no one called it, i ASSUME that the coach did not remind his players about calling a timeout.

win or lose it will be a team effert... yao coulda called a to, steve could have, everyone else on the rockets could have... but nobody called a time out...

sure we can all bash some one and all that, but i just hope the team can learn from this game... and if you say they are too dumb, stupid, not enough bball iq, or any other stupid crap like just remember we are young.. our leaders are young(yes we have more than 1 leader).....and if you still say that is no excuse then go be another teams fan because the rockets are going to be taken there fair share of lumbs and bad games just like this one... we still need to grow together before we can truely play together

I was not able to watch the game on TV. Based on the recap from ESPN, Haywood blocked Yao 3 times second half and also had 6 fouls. Can anybody explain to me that Haywood really played a great defense against Yao, or the officials just allowed
those physical contacts that Kurt Thomas put on Yao?

Steve got to be disapponinted in his showing that only happend once a year in his hometown.

We need Francis's production to win games or go to playoffs, if that is still possible.

The Bulls game was on the second of back to back road games. We played Minnesota on Sunday and Marbury had to play heavy minutes, he struggled against a quick defender like Jay Williams and was tired.

    He is averaging 30ppg 9apg in 2003.

Who was Francis going against? Tyrone Lue and Juan Dixon??? :)
When his team just lost the #8 spot a night before?

This loss was 5000% Steve's fault. At least he didn't shoot late in the fourth or overtime, or we would have lost by 20.

This team doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs.

I just watched that last play again (yes I taped it). Now I think that maybe no timeout was right. Yao threw the ball to Steve because he saw there was only one defender behind him. He was trying to start a fast break. Steve had a good look at the three. But when he jumped halfway into the air, Jordan came out of nowhere to deflect that shot. Had Steve got the shot off, it would have been as good a shot as you could get with a few seconds left.

I'm dissapointed because our playoff chances are fading fast. In the long run, however, our young players would benefit from playing close games like this.

Has anyone ever stopped to think about the other Texas teams? I mean there could be a reason behind the refs calling some bad calls on the Rockets. I have been a Rockets fan for about 11 years now, but patience and trust on this team (My favorite team) is running thin. I had studied the Rockets very hard last season watching every game and then switching over to the highlights of the other Texas teams on Sportscenter when they play. I am starting to see a trend growing here. I think the refs don't want to have every Texas team succeed in the NBA even though the California teams have been getting a lot of calls against a lot of teams. Since they give A LOT to the Mavericks and Spurs, they probably decide to let the other Texas team, the Rockets float dead on a deserted sea. Yup, it's just these damn other Texas teams. We have got to hope the Mavs and Spurs keep on losing so the Rockets would get more calls and get into the playoffs. If those two teams were gone, we would definitely make the playoffs. The Mavericks don't deserve to be in the playoffs in my mind and I think the Rockets should take the leftover playloff spot that comes with the Mavericks not being in the playoffs. By the way, the Mavericks play the Kings tonight in Dallas. Go Kings!

    WALTER.

Haywood was pretty clean. HE JUST GOT LUCKY. He blocked Mobley too. BUT HE SHOULD HAVE FOULED OUT WAY EARLIER. And Michael Oakley shouldh ave been kicked out. He had like 5 fouls and 1 technical. HE WHACKED ABOUT 4 OF OUR PLAYERS. :(

    Well......................slinslin. lol

you come to the rescue!!!!! you just come when francis does bad. marbury is good. i confess. :)

WELL NEXT GAME AGAINST SPURS. WE BETTER WIN. IF WE DON'T WE ARE OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS>

Look, I would argue if anyone should call a timeout, it should be Steve, besides Rudy. Yao got the rebound, he was looking for a fast beark. The defense has set yet. There is a chance the Steve can beat them down the court. So he throw a quick outlet pass.

But Steve, he now could read the defense, he knew if the Wizards were back or not, he knew if the break opportunity was still there....But...

A frustrating game, to be sure. But, that's how it is as a Rockets fan. Something's wrong, obviously, but there's a lot of time to figure out what needs to be done to correct it. For all the bashing done on this board, Rudy, Stevie and Yao are all good. Consistently good? Well, no. The Rockets don't have all of the pieces in place right now. I wish I could tell them what to do, but I couldn't hit a jump shot with a gun to my head. The more times a gun is held to the Rockets' heads to make a shot, though, the better they will be in the long run. Losing a close one in OT is better than rolling over. They were good enough to come back; someday they'll be good enough to put it away. I hope!

But, hey. Jordan's gone next year. Where will DC be then? The Rockets could really use a guy who's been to the top before, and I ain't talkin' about a role player like Rice. All we have is Rudy, and he ain't on the floor. Nothing the coach can do when the Franchise is 1-for-13 or whatever. Still, there's a lot of years ahead of this team.
