The defense in the second half was solid.Francis made some good entry passes. JJ was pretty impressive, his mid range shot was really good. Boki didn't shoot well but I was surprised by his ability to postup and his defense has gotten a lot better.
If our outside shooting and passing gets better and if Yao continues to be aggressive and fights harder against the big guys we can do really well.
I didn't know that we have so many away games early in the season. We need Mo to get back quickly. We are missing Pike as he is the only specialist shooter that we have. I just hope he recovers quickly.
On the road good defense and ball movement can lead to open shots but we have to put them down. If we can do that and get the ball down to Yao we can get off to a good start.
Van Gundy is doing a pretty good job.

We played good...but man the spurs looked HORRIBLE in this game...I mean you don't see TD going 5 for 15 for most nights.

yes he is doing a good job, but i dont see any depth with MOt and Eddie out at the PF spot, i dont thin k Braggs can handlemany tough PF happy teams (ie the blazers) or someone like LA. but hopefully well get EDDIE and MOT back and on full strength before the season

I envy your fourth grade math skills. I never would have thought that T-Mac was better than 4.5 people in the Rockets starting lineup. The way you're goin, I bet the Magic win 93 games in the regular season and barely miss the playoffs:)

When you have a 7-6 guy help guarding the basket, it is impossible to consistently go inside...

I love Walt Disney World, I was just concerned because I thought that instead of stamping visitors' hands at the gate like you are supposed to do, you were being naughty and posting messages using your boss' computer.

    Say hi to Captain Nero.

BTW, I wasn't taking shots at your city, I've been to Orlando and I think it's a great place to vacation and just relax.

    So do the Magic players.

I'm another one of those folks seeing them for the first time in Austin and man, I hope this wasn't an aberration, a fluke or an hallucination. Yao, what can you say?? Wow! Steve looked much stronger and played in control... very impressive. Jackson showed me why we picked him up. Great high energy, veteran play and was hitting his midrange shots.

Braggs has to be the find of the camp! Really want to see if he can keep it up. Boki is still finding his shot, but he's getting much more comfortable out there. Cat, Norris... hell everyone was outstanding either comparing them to last year (Mooch) or considering they're coming off injuries and learning a new system (Cat).

But lets here it for the most amazing thing I saw in our groovy uniforms! Kelvin Cato!!

If JVG does nothing else, his tranformation of Cato has earned him his salary. WOW!

(I keep wanting to say WOW! tonight, especially talking about KC... good lord!)

The opposite looked true to me.

Did anybody else notice that Mobley took the 1st bad shot of the game for the Rockets? And the 3rd. And the 4th. None were late in the shot clock. Steve took the 2nd.

He's taking fewer shots. He's doing fewer Isos. But his awareness of when he shouldn't shoot is either bad... or after a while, he just feels such a need to shoot that it overides his better sense.

Incidentally, you guys need to ignore the troll.

If an opposing team fan makes rational arguments, argue with them. If they just seem stupid, bash them (it's fun!). But when they're obviously trolling, why bother? Put them on your ignore list and chill out.

Yet his FG% for the game was better than Steve's, he had less turnovers, as many assists, five times as many rebounds, and all this with no personal fouls.

Still, I'll make sure he gets the memo that he shouldn't shoot until the end of the shot clock.....unless you have other OBJECTIVE criteria as to what constitutes a good or bad shot.

After all, I think its absolutely imperative that Mobley make the fans happy.

Irrelevant. I didn't say he played poorly. I noted that the supposed improvement in his shot selection isn't really accurate. He's shooting less overall, and has the ball less... this means necessarily that he's going to take fewer bad shots.

Deep shots, when you're covered, and you're short... and you have to fade-away are bad shots unless the shot clock is close to expiring. They're bad shots then, too - but they're the lesser of two evils.

The offense looked pretty good on movement. But I did note that Mobley ended it prematurely in ways that I only really noticed others do once before the middle of the 4th quarter (moochie did it several times).

This is so meaningless. Of course it doesn't really matter to Cuttino, JVG, or anybody else whether haven thinks Cuttino's shot selection has really improved. But then, what's the point of this sight? I have an opinion, and I gave it. Why the attack?

I didn't get to watch the game until the 4th, so I only can comment that qtr.

Mobley took three bad shots in three consecutive possessions. Yes he made one, but he started his 1on1 without even looking at his open teammates.
